The Journey Begins….

Thanks for joining me!

You can now click on the above “LISTEN ON SPOTIFY” (WHEN AVAILABLE) to hear this in audio!

My name is Leslie M. Jasper and I am the author of the book entitled, Construction Tales: Volume I: A Woman’s Journey to Become an Electrician.  I would be embarrassed having a young person reading my book.  Therefore, I created a teen version of the book.  My edited teen version is entitled, Construction Tales: A Young Person’s Guide to Accomplish Anything in Life.  For the sake of simplicity and the power of hashtags, my book goes by the hashtag #ConstructionTales.  My first children’s book is entitled, Not All Girls Play With Dolls.  It serves as a prequel to #ConstructionTales.  I need my illustrator to finish my illustrations since the book has been written for a while.  My books, both current and future, are in paperback, e-book, and audio on the following platforms: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, and Audible.  The book was featured via the Combined Book Exhibit in a few different book fairs.  I even use my Combined Book Exhibit trailer on the Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel.

It is obvious that I am a journeywoman electrician by trade.  I now work as a Safety Manager for a WBE electrical contractor in New York City.  I started my electrical career in 1993 as a Construction Apprentice in the U.S. Navy Seabees.  I then continued my electrical career as an apprentice electrician when I joined Local #3 IBEW since 1995 until today.  I worked with the tools until the year 2014.  During that time, we were still suffering from the effects of the 2008 recession with a huge block- between one to two years of employment between jobs.  I started working in the office via learning autoCAD and engineering with the largest electrical contractor in New York City.  Over time, I got a shot to work as a project manager within a team in the company.  I did PM work for a few other electrical contractors on a variety of short-term projects.  I found a home at a woman owned electrical contractor.  By 2020, I got an opportunity to study and take a series of safety credential exams.  I am now working for a WBE electrical contractor as a Safety Manager.

I came up with the podcast concept a few years ago.  A few people had suggested, over the years, for me to create a podcast since I bring unique perspective.  However, I had never attempted before 2021.  I didn’t know where or how to even start.  It took some patience and some exploring to make it happen.  I am the host, with my co-host Melissa Polito, of The Verbally Disastrous Podcast With Leslie & Melissa.  The Verbally Disastrous podcast is on Spotify, Soundcloud, and YouTube.  We are just two random career chicks sharing our thoughts on a variety of topics.  At some point, we will become more advanced and figure out how to incorporate video with our podcast episodes.  We will learn how to go live on both YouTube and Instagram.  We are trying to steer clear of religion and politics!  Those subjects are heavy, fill people with emotion, and just ruins the vibe of a discussion.  Our goal is to find very odd, funny, unusual, and weird topics to discuss.  I have laid out some topics we will discuss.  However, we randomly switch gears with our topics at a moment’s notice.  Why?  Because we are…. Verbally Disastrous!!! 😛

Advice On The Meaning Behind The Acronym “POS”

Hello Everyone!

How are you dedicating your Tuesday afternoon!? Try to keep dry and warm since the weather has been rough lately. Guess who found another question on Quora for us to chew the fat on?? Yeah, I laughed at this question. I figured the person asking is not an American and has never ever been involved in road rage ever. Here in New York City, the acronym “POS” on a regular basis under their breathe at any given moment. It may be funniest question so far that has been requested. This question is on the topic on the meaning behind the acronym “POS”. For anyone that is under a rock, the term POS stands for, Piece Of Sh@t. It is usually a phrase that is unleashed when another person just pisses you off!! There is usually raging emotion behind that veiled phrase. One may ask why use it as an acronym? Perhaps it was designed so that you can shout it out loud in front of women and children? The term sh@t comes from the Germanic term “schite” that means “dung”. In terms of slang, I kind of think that phrase is probably one of the worst things that you can say to another person. You indeed have a super low opinion of the person being called a POS. It may be a phrase, once uttered, that you cannot come back from if you don’t genuinely mean it. I don’t recommend using POS on another person unless you are totally done with their presence and closing the door on future interactions. Just be sure to stand behind what you say or prepare to apologize profusely. If the phrase is not actually merited, it will make you look even worse than the person you chose to utter the phrase on. Therefore, buyer beware so to speak. At the end of the day, may you align yourself with good people in your life. Now, here is the posed question and my response below:

POSED QUESTION:

“What does it mean when someone calls you a POS?”

By Blake Winfield

MY RESPONSE:

“The POS is an acronym used to convey the following phrase: Piece Of Sh@t. What does it mean when you call another person a POS? 1) You are frustrated with the words and actions of another person. 2) You have pent up emotions on another person to where you cannot verbally articulate how you feel. 3) The other person is not behaving and/or speaking in a manner that reflects what they want you to believe that they are. 4) The POS hurt you beyond words. 5) The goal of the person calling another a POS just wants to rattle their cage emotionally. 6) The person calling the other person a POS believes they are of a higher character and entitled to speak up and let them know in few words. 7) It can be a personality conflict where both sides do not mesh well together. On the other side of the coin, if you allow the negative feedback to give you an emotional response, you may interpret the feedback as just another person that is trying to upset you with their stinging words. If you push the emotional response to the side, you have to ask why that acronym was the feedback of choice? Either the person offering the feedback has a limited vocabulary or the person is just fed up with the actions and words and this acronym summarizes the boiling point of sheer frustration. The person being called a POS must take a moment, if they even care, to analyze why they are being called that? Are they guilty of not being who they say they are? Are your words and actions being misinterpreted? Is the person giving feedback too damn sensitive? Should you try better to treat other better? At the end of the day, it is up to both parties as to whether or not they choose to react to the feedback or not. May you have better relationships than the example offered.”

I thank you for swinging by my blog world on this fine day today. You are highly appreciated. Drop your thoughts down in the comment section down below. I’m sharing my latest (7) podcast episodes that are listed down below from The Verbally Disastrous Podcast, via links for Spotify & YouTube down below. If you are into reading on a Kindle, check out my newest short story release that belongs to my Construction Tales-Told By A Woman Kindle Vella Library short story series on Amazon down below. Short story #10 is entitled, “Early Life Lessons & Characters To Meet As An Apprentice”. I released short story #10 that is now live. If anyone has read any of my other short stories, by all means, let me know what you think? I’m working on some upcoming podcast guests for the beginning of the Year 2022. I have an acquaintance who is a practicing Satanist. At some point, I want to chat with him/her about a recent choice to transition from a man to a woman. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better these days so I will work on getting back into creating content in my spare time. We’re talking about doing a video chat for this interview. If so, it will be my first one. Melissa and I need to find time to get together and discuss our impending topic on our most embarrassing moments. It’s now time for me to continue working on some projects today. Now go carry on with your Tuesday plans now that we are back to the work week. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

I just shared my latest short story that has been loaded up to my Construction Tales-Told By A Woman Kindle Vella Library on Amazon. This is short story #10 entitled, “Early Life Lessons & Characters To Meet As An Apprentice”. This short story covers some initial life lessons such as guarding your personal information, managing nasty rumors, combating sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and racism. Overall, the construction culture has improved dramatically over the past 25-years. Developing both a thick skin and a sharp tongue are key tools needed to survive various jobsite antics. The previous short story is entitled: #9: “I’m Working On The Railroad With The Tools As A Chick!”. I decided to write about some stories from when I worked with the tools on the railroad. I shared a story of saving a co-worker from a near death experience! I hope you learn something from this short story. There are more to come. This short story is now also available as (2) Verbally Disastrous podcast episodes.

*UPDATED*- The Dirty Little Secrets Club Q&A Shared!

FAIR WARNING THIS BLOG POST DISCUSSES A PODCAST THAT CONTAINS MATURE SCENARIOS AND ADULT HUMOR!!! PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!

*UPDATED* POSTING THE ANSWERS TO MY POSED QUESTIONS. ORIGINALLY POSTED BACK IN OCTOBER 2020!! AWAITING FOR FEEDBACK FROM CO-HOST DAYNA PEREIRA

Hello Everyone!

I sure as hell hope you are having a great day today on your side of the globe!? Keep that energy high in order to keep that mindset positive. How much colder is it on your side of the globe today? I’m giving a big finger to people who never see winter ever!! Just kidding!!! I’m totally kidding!! I have always liked the cooler months when I was younger. However, as I get older, my body prefers the warmer weather. Truth be told, I am a polar bear so I embrace the cooler weather when the summer is over. I went to the NYC Halloween Parade in lower Manhattan for on October 31st. As a reminder again, I have some journals, sketchbooks, planners, etc. that are now on Amazon. For this blog post, I am re-sharing my review on a podcast that someone on Twitter shared with me over the summer. I’m also offering some of the responses to my questions down below. When the remaining amount of responses to the questions come in, I will offer another update. The podcast is entitled, “The Dirty Little Secrets Club” and is hosted by Dayna (That Trophy Wife Life Podcast) and Brimstone (The Grindhouse Radio). I found this unique duet on YouTube. I am going to review their interactions and dirty secrets. I will then ask them some questions, reaching out via Twitter, for them to respond at their earliest convenience. I am looking forward to listening to their content and writing out my thoughts. I will have to get from them the links to their other podcast platforms as well. I believe they are on Spotify at the very least. It appears to be an up and coming brand-new joint podcast project. I perceive that they have had their own personal podcast projects prior to joining forces (a great question to ask them). Here is the description to their podcast that can be found on their YouTube page below:

“Do you have a dirty little secret? Welcome to the club. From Coast to Coast, the Beauty from the West and the Beast from the East are offering you a VIP ticket to the dirtiest little secrets this club has to offer. Dayna (That Trophy Wife Life Podcast) and Brimstone (The Grindhouse Radio) let you take a peek into our own personal Pandora’s Box of anonymous secrets submitted through our website. So what are you waiting for? Step on in, and let’s get scandalous”.

The show has a Twitter handle and can be found on Instagram under the show’s title as well. The funny thing is when you first click on the video, they look like such an unlikely pairing. Dayna does indeed have the dainty, self-proclaimed “trophy wife” look. Meanwhile, Brimstone has the long hair & beard dare I say “hippie” look. If he said he followed Fish or The Grateful Dead, I would totally believe him. Despite appearing to be coming from different planets, they actually vibe very well together. I totally appreciate that Dayna does not shy away from raunchy topics!! She surprised me in the most pleasant manner! She is not afraid to roll her sleeves up and get “dirty”. She speaks about the raunchiest topics in such a soft manner like she is delivering the grocery list. If anything, she reminds me of myself a little bit. I tend to add a little extra to a very disgusting yet very funny topic. When I worked in the field, I threw my co-workers off with my candid observations. She has a sick sense of humor like I do. I laughed my ass off at the story on the group of guys pitching in together and buying and sharing a fleshlight!!! I won’t give away what episode it came from. You will need to look for it yourself. As a mom of two sons who has a very open and honest relationship, that subject is not surprising to me at all. I have heard of stories about making passionate noises with the fleshlight that rattled the headboard. When I heard the stories, I could barely breathe due to laughing so damn hard!! I also cracked up at Dayna mentioning that she would call her husband’s fleshlight (if he had one) as per sister wife. Bbbllaaahhhh!!!!!! 😛 I indeed found myself listening to more of their podcast episodes than I would normally do for a review. I often will do reviews eyes and ears unseen previously. I actually have a funny and embarrassing story that I need to share with them on their website. I would be totally amused by their discussion on the topic.

I learned a new term, “holy milk” by listening to a podcast episode. I was also humored by “Missing The Honeypot”. This made me laugh as well. Some creep gave them a dirty secret of inserting pretzels inside the hole of the penis. The fella like the abrasive nature that came from the salt passing the skin. I was like WWHHAATTT!!??? I then heard Brimstone recommend to the fella to be careful since that can be infection central!! Yikes!! Brimstone goes to quip that the guy is “as-salting” his penis! Bbbllaahh!!! I envisioned a Mount Rushmore of puss erupting from his member followed by massive pain!! He then shared that he knew a guy with 30 piercings between his twig and berries. There are no short supply of crazy stories being told and the following funny banter between the two hosts. They always say that true life is stranger than fiction. It sounds like The Dirty Little Secrets Club is not exception to the rule. As a woman who has been in construction in New York for the past +25-years, I have heard the craziest stories on the jobsites. We had a guy on the job with the nickname “Porno *Saul” who had a massive collection of dirty magazines. He used to bring them into work and offered them to the general foreman. He slid the manila envelope across the break table during coffee break. I absolutely lost my shit when I witnessed that debauchery! I neared about what “feltching” is by exposure to this fella. I’m not telling-look it up. My son is an apprentice on the job and reports that the man is now a born-again Christian. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to their podcast episodes. I will more than likely check out future episodes. It makes me want to also listen to their personal podcast projects in the future. Here is a sample funny episode that can be found on YouTube:

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE DIRTY LITTLE SECRETS CLUB TEAM: (AWAITING FURTHER FEEDBACK)

1.) How did you choose “The Dirty Little Secrets Club” concept and podcast name?

When Dayna and I originally discussed tag-teaming a show together, I asked if she’d had any concepts that she wanted to potentially put into play. Needless to say… Day is brilliant and has a fantastic entrepreneurial mind – So she’d had a few killer ideas to choose from! The IP that stuck out to me above the rest happened to be the Dirty Little Secrets Club. Honestly, to be blunt… I got excited about the project right away as it was an outlet to do something completely outside of the sandbox that I’m normally confined playing in. We both went back and forth discussing different thoughts and ideas for DLSC – It’s crazy that we were both on the same brainwave and with a little trial and error… we found our little niche in the grand scheme of things!

Brimstone

2.) How did you two meet?

I had the pleasure of doing the guest thing on Dayna’s OG series, ‘That Trophy Wife Life’. We had fantastic chemistry on-air (when you know, you know), and stayed in touch thereafter. As cliché as it may sound, real recognizes real and when the opportunity arose to maybe do a project together… it just made sense.

Brimstone

3.) Where are you all from?

I’m from Long Island, New York – just a little under an hour from NYC. Dayna is in San Diego, California.

Brimstone

4.) How often do you get dirty little secrets for your podcast episodes? Have they increased as you generate episodes?

This is a question for Dayna as she handles the lion’s share of the responsibility for the show’s backend. I can tell you that we receive entries throughout the week via our anonymous entry system on the Official website; as well as via social media (which is a lot less anonymous; however our lips are always sealed when it comes to who our secrets belong to). We have received more as we’ve grown – we actually got a ridiculous amount for our fetish episode… my friend Tabitha Stevens joined us for that journey and it was certainly epic! We’re always seeking fresh secrets from our club members though as you can never have enough. We really love the ones that are really detailed – it helps the conversations and we have to fill in less of the blanks.

Brimstone

5.) What are the day jobs of everyone on the team? Go ahead and promote your businesses and I will share it for you.

I’m Brimstone 24/7 – I do a lot of voice over work, acting, touring and appearances, and so on. I also own The Grindhouse Radio, Inc., Hound Comics, Inc. (Hound Entertainment Group), and have a multitude of different products out in market from backpacks, to sauces and seasonings to toys, games and then some! I’m also a comic book, animated, video game and kid’s book character… a lot can be learned (if interested) by reading my Bio on my Official Website.

Brimstone

6.) Did you each have your own personal podcast projects before meeting each other?

Short answer to this question is yes. I met Dayna by being a guest on her show, That Trophy Wife Life. I was an early adopter of being interviewed by podcasters and have been exposed to them for many years – I’ve been doing my own professionally now though for the last seven years. I do The Grindhouse Radio on iHeartRadio and over thirty other networks syndicated, with between 3.5 to 4 million listeners weekly worldwide. I also do Truly Inconsequential with my co-host Tom Greer (also from The Grindhouse Radio) and Within Brim’s Skin (with co-host Alex DaPonte) via The Grindhouse Radio Network. Currently, my only external show from GHR is the Dirty Little Secrets Club.

Brimstone

7.) Name 3 key lessons, you have learned the hard way, while creating your podcast episodes?

8.) Name 3 screw-ups you had either prior to launching or while creating your podcast?

9.) Share any social media links that I have not listed in this blog post?

Sure! You can find everything on my Official website: therealbrimstone.com – There are links to all of my social directly on the site. I personally run all my social media – it isn’t my assistant, an intern or my wife… it’s me! So if you reach out – it will be me responding to you directly, and I love engagement. I am most active on Instagram at @therealbrimstone; but I’m everywhere including Twitter at @entrancetohell and Facebook at @Brimstone. If people are interested in using me IN their social media… you can find GIFs of me by searching Brimstone, gotBrim and @ghr among other keywords; or grab them from giphy.com/ghr.

Brimstone

10) Do you have access to big names to interview yet?

On the DLSC we’ve had a couple of guests on; but we aren’t doing the interview thing – we have them on to be a part of the shenanigans which is extra fun. In terms of names, I’ve been in entertainment for over forty years – so I know; or have access to pretty much anyone. If you are interested in checking out everyone who has been on The Grindhouse Radio – visit our Guest List page and you can listen to well over three hundred guests who have hung out on GHR.

Brimstone

11) What are the topics of your next few episodes you plan to release to give the audience a tease?

We mostly play each episode by ear to keep it fun and fresh. They are also dictated by the different secrets that are sent to us week to week. Occasionally we’ll plan something out; but it is way more fun to be spontaneous and not really know what is coming – it keeps the fun flowing!

Brimstone

12) Are either of you authors?

13) What is the ultimate goal of your podcast?

14) What does your friends, family members, and spouses think about the podcast?

15) Who is your audience and where in the world are the majority of them from?

16) What is the raunchiest dirty little secret that has been shared?

17) Has there been a topic that you struggled to share on a podcast episode?

18) What is the name of the artist and song used at the end of your podcast episode?

I SHALL UPDATE THE RESPONSES TO THE QUESTIONS WHEN I RECEIVE THEM.

If you do not like or appreciate adult humor and content, I do not recommend you checking out this content. Then again, if you are reading my content, you must have some form of a dirty, funny bone in ya. You see where I went with that!? Ha!! Never mind-proceed as usual! I have to say that I am humored by the content and would love to do a future collaboration if the opportunity came up in the future. Perhaps I can share some crazy stories from the time when I worked with the guys with the tools. If you like my raw, dirty construction chick stories, you will also like Dayna & Brimstone at The Dirty Little Secrets Club! Go check them out! I highly recommend listening to this podcast. That is my review of The Dirty Little Secrets Club! I’m super grateful for you stopping by to check out my review on The Dirty Little Secrets Club. I thank you for including me in your AM/PM routine when you check out my content today. I am always humored if you are sneaking away to read/listen to this while at work. Ssshh, your secret is safe with me!! 😛 Let me know if you find my review interesting? I will add any questions to the pile if you leave them in the comment section. I am pimping out my latest, two podcasts that I released for The Verbally Disastrous Podcast via links for Spotify, Amazon Music, & YouTube below. For my latest podcast release, I kick off Season #2 with my discussion about early lessons learned during my apprenticeship and the characters I met along the way. Hopefully, you find these latest podcast episodes to be interesting. I am also sharing the link to my (10) Kindle Vella short stories on Amazon as well.

Hello Everyone!

How are you spending your time on your Sunday evening!? I’m trying to share some updated blog posts and get back to my painting. As promised, I have focused on more editing and I totally finished the raw audio footage from my recent sit down over the phone with Photacular Imagery artist, Brian Reyes. It is my goal for you to get as many laughs as we did! Brian and I were both in our electrical apprenticeship around the same time, within a about 2-3 years, and share mutual friends in the business. I worked with Brian back around 2011-2012 together at Yonkers Raceway for an electrical contractor. We have great chemistry as really good friends and share such a great sense of humor. This worked really well when you are working on an otherwise physically demanding job while moving around thousands of slot machines. I refuse to be miserable while doing either shitty jobs or under bad conditions of an environment. We had some other great co-workers who totally added to the comedic tone of the jobsite. Brian took a huge leap of faith and now works and lives out of California. He has a tremendous amount of balls to make this huge change in life!! I give him much credit for re-booting his personal life, via placing roots in another geographic location. He worked out in many areas within the vast state of California. As a kid who grew up in the Bronx, there were clear cultural adaptations that needed to be made. As of this date, he is still looking for the perfect slice of New York style pizza. He has heard of a location yet has not found the right time to sample the goods. I laughed at this issue since it is a common bitch amongst New Yorkers who become transplants elsewhere in the globe. As of now, I have not gotten an update on trying out the pizza. Other than that, Brian fits right in since he is a gypsie at heart. He shared the “van life” culture that runs rampant in California. I was joking with him about getting a van years ago and sure enough, he now has one! 😛 Now that I’m done editing, check out these (3) podcast episodes where he shares his various experiences while traveling to different unions and meeting various people. To my surprise, there are many workers who travel throughout the U.S. to work temporarily on projects. He is now blessed to be tapped into that country wide pool of traveling tradesmen and tradeswomen. Of course, Brian can serve as a point of reference if you want to travel throughout the country for work.

Brian mentioned that a female traveling electrician, named Carol, has agreed to call me to discuss her adventures out on the road. When she does, of course I will share when it is ready to be released. I’m looking forward to that experience with her. I believe that Brian will call in as well to enrich the conversation. The purpose for sharing this blog post again is to show you the Be-Lax clothing line logo. As previously promised, I got Brian to share photos of his “Be Lax” logo and clothing line concept. He offered it so I’m updating this blog post. I suggested for him to put ocean scenes on the t-shirt. Perhaps I can get him to send me an ocean themed Be-Lax t-shirt so I can promote them here in New York. I’m offering his website down below at the very bottom. The bundle of 3-part podcast episodes Part A & Part B & Part C YouTube links are listed down below. This 3-part chat is with my union brother who is a traveling journeyman electrician. I’m sharing the links to the entire podcast on Spotify & the (6) latest YouTube links. It’s now time for me to continue working on my painting project this evening. Now go carry on with your Sunday plans now that we are at the end of the weekend. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

Just Released! Season #2, Episode #46: Early Life Lessons And Characters To Meet As An Apprentice

Hello Everyone!

How are you dedicating your Sunday evening!? The temperature here in New York City have dropped and now it’s snowing. It is the season where the best activities, besides snowboarding, are all inside for the next few months. As I said before, I’m back to painting as my winter time hobby. This particular painting has numbers that you paint in order to create this river front drawing. It takes way more time to create versus a freestyle painting. I finished a lighthouse painting awhile back. I have one more painting to pull out and finish. I initially bought them for my sons to do them at Melissa’s house. Thinking back, they would not have the patience to complete the paintings. Keep up the good fight and continue to stay safe, happy, and healthy during this perilous time with this Omicron variant. I did do some editing and created on my first episode of Season #2. I was fighting to keep a straight voice since I have been sick with congestion for the past few weeks. Here is Episode #46 where I shared some early crucial life lessons and some interesting characters that I met as an apprentice. I learned to be more cautious about revealing personal information on the job. At first, I was shocked with the nasty rumors that were based upon a kernel of truth. Over time, I became de-sensitized to the jobsite antics. I learned to diffuse sexual and gender harassment bombs with heavy humor. At some point, I will do a podcast episode on it. Without giving away any further, here is the podcast episode link for YouTube. This episode is also available on +20 podcast platforms that are broadcasted around the globe.

I thank you for swiping in my blog today. You are highly appreciated. I can’t say that enough to you all. Drop your thoughts down in the comment section down below. I’m sharing my latest (6) podcast episodes that are listed down below from The Verbally Disastrous Podcast, via links for Spotify & YouTube down below. I have sent out the questions so he/she can prepare for the interview. At some point, I want to chat with him about his recent choice to transition from a man to a woman. I’m interested in this topic since it is a topic that I don’t know much about. I intend on getting an education for us on this discussion topic in the very near future. I need more time to heal up from being sick. Additionally, he/she has had to step up with shifts due to co-workers being out due to illness. Stay tuned for an upcoming podcast release that will kick off Season #2. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better these days so I need to get back into creating content. Melissa and I need to find time to get together and discuss our impending topic on our most embarrassing moments. It’s now time for me to continue working on my painting project this evening. Now go carry on with your Sunday plans now that we are at the end of the weekend. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

Advice On Speaking Your Truth And The Fear Of Speaking Up

Hello Everyone!

How are you dedicating your Saturday evening!? The temperature here in New York City have plummeted!! It is the season where the best activities, besides snowboarding, are all inside for the next few months. With that said, I’m going back to painting as my winter time hobby. Keep remaining safe, happy, and healthy during this perilous time with this Omicron variant. Guess who found some questions on Quora for us to chew on?? Yeah, I found a rather interesting question. It may be the most appealing question so far that has been requested. This question is on the topic of revealing the truth and saying what you want. The question probes even further with asking what is to be feared? I know how I felt on this topic has drastically changed since I was 18-years old. I used to feel that the truth was paramount and the absolute truth was necessary. People who spin the truth absolutely rattle my cage!! One thing I started watching on YouTube are Catfish video clips. It boggles my mind how someone would choose to go to great lengths to deceive others on the internet. It is absolutely disgusting behavior that should be avoided at all costs! Thankfully, I’m way too cheap to be fleeced by an online predator. I can’t imagine giving a person money much less asking in real life. However, as I have gotten older, I have realized that sometimes the truth is not necessarily the most important thing. Sometimes winning the morality war doesn’t win when going the distance. Some people just don’t have the emotional maturity to properly articulate what is exactly on their mind. For some, it is way easier to tell falsehoods and spin webs versus laying one’s vulnerability on the table to reveal the truth. When everyone alienates you, since they anticipate being called out on their nonsense, you have to ask yourself if it is worth it? Instead, is it better to let people spin their webs, you merely arm yourself with the data, and work to limit your interactions with that said person. Your truth is not going to change the hearts of these deceptive people. Instead, the only thing that happens is that you become the person known for making a “citizen’s arrest”. The worst part is exposing another person for their nonsense and the morality needle doesn’t move a hair. You have to ask yourself if it was even worth it? Let people be the lying pieces of garbage that they are if it doesn’t harm you. Stressing yourself out due to another person’s mess is pointless and not necessary. Just cut them off or limit your interactions with them. I’m sure for others it doesn’t take them much time to figure out that another person is a walking falsehood. Don’t give too much energy to liars out there. Save your energy for building your empire. I’ve also learned that my culture is not the only one on the planet. I’m aware that my culture dictates how I think and how I conduct myself on particular topics regardless of logic. This is why and how a person navigates around the truth. How I would approach the truth while standing here in New York City is way different than a man would who stands in India. It’s important to think about that when you are questioning a person’s motive. May you align yourself with good people in your life. Now, here is the posed question and my response below:

POSED QUESTION:

“Why do you never say what you really want? What are you afraid of?”

By Sachin Dabodiya

MY RESPONSE:

“Over the years, as I have spent time here on the planet, I have been guilty in the past of speaking the bold face truth and forcing others to no longer hide in dark corners where secrets lurk. I believe my morality needle is not far from reality and I follow a logical, step-by-step thought process. I had a tendency to call people out on their poor words and actions when I was younger. Sometimes it served me well, since it was “right”, and sometimes it absolutely didn’t since the truth is painful and not pleasant to sit in. These people dodge a relationship since they anticipate being called out in the future. After awhile, I have learned many lessons as to the proper timing to expose the truth, when to fall back, or if the truth is even necessary to expose. It’s frustrating since many people behave in a way yet do not stand by their behavior either minutes and/or years later. There also has to be a time when you let the past behaviors go since they can be unsettling on the soul of both parties. You have to ask if the truth adds value to your life? What is gained? In a world that is loaded with billions of people, we all view life through a lens that formed from unique life experiences. Because of these different experiences, we all view different opinions and ways of conducting life differently. People have different levels of sensitivity. More importantly, people react differently to the truth and are incapable of owning the truth. Yes, we were all told as kids to be honest. As you get older, you realize that the truth is not as highly desired as what was taught to us. We also learn, over time, as to who can accept the truth and who is not so receptive. We also have to learn that there comes a crossroads with either being right or having peace. Which road do you prefer to travel? If you upset a person for telling the truth and they alienate you, did you really “win”? Telling the truth can be morally sound. The truth can clear a conscience and establish trust. On the other hand, the truth can drive a wedge in relationships, become sandpaper on delicate skin, or cause you to lose opportunities either personally and/or even professionally. You can gain about as much as you can lose by telling the truth. Sadly, you need to know what strategically works and doesn’t work in your life. Some truths only serve to pierce the heart like a sword. Other truths open up the veils of secrecy and deceit. If the truth serves nothing other than to wrangle a person’s emotions, is the reveal truly necessary? If the truth avoids deceiving another soul, then screw a person’s emotions. We then must think about the many grey areas of truth and how a person’s culture impacts their own belief system. Some truths are not always black and white. Are there truths that can swing wildly based upon perception? Can a story shift based upon the perception held by either party? Is being right more important than love or peace? After years of experience, it can be reckless to just say what you want to say. You must ask yourself what purpose does freely speaking serve? Are you hurting someone in the process? Meanwhile, the needle of morality does not even move a hair. If so, was revealing the truth merely serving your ego? Is telling the truth keeping an innocent man from going to prison? Does the truth reveal the harm from another person? Now, what is the cost of telling the truth? If there is a heavy cost with revealing a truth, it’s reasonable to see why the truth is withheld. Once a door of truth is opened, it cannot be closed with life going back to normal. In some unique instances, the truth can have dire consequences. Telling a man that his wife is cheating on him is the right thing. One would rethink that reveal if he then chooses to end her life due to her infidelity. It is all about culture and what you value. In some parts of the world, they would believe that the death of the cheating wife would be justified. The culture would believe that the truth should be revealed as well as the resulting consequences. On my side of the planet, it would be believed that it was safer to stay out of their marriage and let them work out their own issues. I will go one step further and say that we would support having the couple part ways from each other and offer support to ensure she remains safe from her husband. Many truths can be about perspective and where you come from on the planet and what culture you align yourself with that dictates your actions. If you are okay with any consequences that come as a result of holding the torch of truth, by all means go for it. However, I understand the need to dodge consequences that may come as a result of a deep secret being revealed. I also understand removing yourself from affairs that are not your business no matter how truly disgusting they may be. I wish you much success with navigating life while standing in your truth and standing for what you believe in.”

Advice On Alternate Ways To Say, “Appreciate You”

Hello Everyone!

How are you spending your Monday afternoon!? The snow, rain, and ice coupled with varying temperature absolutely makes the streets here in New York City a disgusting mess! Try to keep on the course of remaining safe, happy, and healthy while in a perilous time with this Omicron variant. I’m shamelessly reminding you that I signed up on Tik Tok in an effort to be creative and post some funny clips. In a previous post, I shared some Tik Tok videos that are on Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel. If you are on Tik Tok, please follow me and I shall return the favor unless you are a bot or a sex worker. I get these weird messages from these chicks posing as sex workers who are looking for new customers. I find it annoying despite being humorous. They get a mute on their direct messages. I need followers so beggars can’t be choosy. 🙂 Guess what?!?! I found yet another unique question from Quora that requested my two cents. This chosen topic is about finding other ways to convey the phrase, “appreciate you”. Why not tap into my creative mind and find clever ways of saying the same message? I actually found this posed question rather entertaining to tackle. Admittedly, I feel like some of my responses to be high on the a$$ kissing meter (if that even exists). There needs to be a balance between a$$ kissing and gratitude. Such a tight rope to walk! I’m all about showing gratitude in an effort to let another person know that they are amazing. I have never felt like anyone owes me anything so any acts of kindness are highly treasured. I have a history of dealing with rather selfish people in my personal life. Therefore, a person who is not an absolute selfish prick is a prize!! 😛 Let me know what you think about my alternate phrases? How would you approach this task? I’d love to hear a clever phrase that you have thought about. Obviously, the funnier the better!! Let me know your phrases in the comment section down below. Now, here is the posed question and my phrases listed below:

POSED QUESTION:

“How do you say “appreciate you”?”

By Nandkishore Deopersad

MY RESPONSE:

“There are quite a few ways to say “appreciate you”. Perhaps these are heavy on the a$$ kissing scale. 😛 Here are (15) alternate phrases I’d use:

01) I’m grateful for your efforts in my life; no word can properly convey your value.
02) I thank God for having you in my little slice of the world.
03) I deeply thank you for your many contribution to my life.
04) I’m a better person for you being by my side.
05) I highly value your contributions to my life.
06) The world is a better place because you exist.
07) Words cannot properly express how much I value your words and actions.
08) You are the best thing since sliced bread. 😛
09) I have a deep sense of gratitude for your wisdom and guidance.
10) I am beyond blessed to have experienced your contributions to my life.
11) I cannot say it enough or even repay you for your amazing acts of kindness.
12) Your gifts are one of the most precious gems in life and I can’t thank you enough.
13) Your kindness is highly treasured.
14) I cannot possibly calculate the true value of your contributions; you are priceless.
15) My gratitude for your efforts is deeper than the ocean.”

Tik Tok Videos & Advice On A Weird Question

Hello Everyone!

How are you spending your Friday afternoon!? It snowed here today here in New York City. Be sure to remain safe, happy, and healthy. Try your best to not get sick and stay healthy. I signed up on Tik Tok in an effort to be creative and post some funny clips. Here are some Tik Tok videos that are on Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel down below the question and response. I found yet another interesting question from Quora so that we can digest the details all together. This chosen topic is about the phrase, “Can anyone never talk about my “cute yap” again?”. What a weird yet humorous question. Against my better judgement, I should have bypassed the question. I’m sure it is intended to confuse while gaining some laughs Let me know what you think about the posed question and my response? Is this the same approach you would take? If not, how different would your approach be? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section down below. Now, here is the posed question and my response listed below:

POSED QUESTION:

“Can anyone never talk about my “cute yap” again?”

By Hamey Bradfprd

MY RESPONSE:

“I find this posed question to be rather humorous so I’m tackling it. If what you have to say yields great talking points, provides needed guidance, or shares a powerful morale to a story, it would be a challenge to never speak about your “cute yap” again. Hopefully, whatever comes out of that cute yap is powerful in nature and leaves a lasting impression on anyone who listens to the message. :P”

Advice On The Meaning Behind A Mixture Of Personal Qualities- Bad Or Good

Hello Everyone!

How are you spending your time on your Wednesday evening!? It’s raining cats and dogs today here in New York City. I hear that snow is coming. In light of people getting sick at an exponential rate lately, I hope you have a safe, happy, and healthy year. Try your best to not get sick and stay healthy. I just released today my tenth short story onto my Kindle Vella Library. This short story #10 is entitled, “Early Life Lessons & Characters To Meet As An Apprentice”. I wrote about some first encounters and some vital life lessons learned when I first got into the business as an apprentice. I’m maxed out with 5,000 words for the short story. Therefore, I’m sure I will expand further on the early life lessons. I spoke about encountering racism, sexism, along with learning to not be so free with sharing my personal information. I learned to develop thick skin and have a razor sharp tongue to battle jobsite banter with a quick retort. Many of my short stories will also morph into podcast episodes. I found another interesting question from Quora so that we chew on the details all together. This chosen topic is about the meaning behind sharing that, “someone is good looking but isn’t very engaging or lacks personality”. I decided to also tackle this question by thinking about what I would do if I was on either side of this situation. It would be painful feedback to receive and rather rough to deliver to another person. We are missing the reason as to why it was even said in the first place. If the person delivering it for a reaction, I’m sure they got what they went looking for. Anyone who offers feedback just to hurt another person is just a complete ass. If they are doing it as an open and honest communication, then I understand the truth can sting a little. If the person was cornered into delivering the feedback, then the person got what they came looking for in the first place. Hopefully, the person will get past being butt hurt by this small dose of honesty and work to do better in the future. I remember as a kid to be constantly told to always tell the truth. As an adult, you learn that telling the truth can be perceived as mean spirited. When sharing a slice of honesty, you need to assess whether or not it is a good idea to proceed further. Sometimes you have to assess whether or not the honest feedback will evoke change. If not, perhaps it is wise to withhold the feedback. Let me know what you think about the question and my response? Is this the same approach you would take? If not, how different would your approach be? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section down below. Now, here is the posed question and my response listed below:

POSED QUESTION:

“What does it mean when someone says someone is good looking but isn’t very engaging or lacks personality?”

By Michael Okeke

MY RESPONSE:

“Oh boy, that’s somewhat of a back handed compliment. The comment of a person’s looks is considered a compliment. However, when a person isn’t engaging, it means that they are not appearing to be as interested with investing the time with an ongoing dialogue with the other person. It is difficult to get to know another person without immersing yourself in a back and forth dialogue. A great personality is utilized in conjunction with engaging the dialogue. This magical mix will work to keep the other party interested in continuing the conversation. They also work together to signal to the other party that you are interested in continuing the discussion. While good looks get you in the door, it is a great personality with a very interested person keeps you in a situation with another person and/or group. It’s as if you need the entire arsenal of social ingredients to make a relationship function in the long term. When I say a back handed compliment, it feels as if the writer leads with a huge compliment regarding the person’s physical appearance. As soon as the compliment is offered, it was then followed up with two very important qualities that were hugely deficient. I imagine that the good quality was presented first followed by the two bad qualities were intended to soften the blow. One has to ask what was the purpose of highlighting this array of good and bad qualities? Did the person who possesses the qualities ask for feedback? If the person didn’t ask for feedback, why was this assessment offered? Is the root of the delivery because the presenter wanted to inform the person of where they stand? Is the presenter trying to inform the person their qualities in an effort to map out why they have stepped back from communication? Was the presenter cornered into the discussion that revealed what was on their heart? We are missing context as to why this phrase was shared with the person who owns those qualities. What does the person owning the qualities do with this information? They either use it as the cue to fall back and stop communicating or vow to work on becoming better at being engaging and showcasing more of their personality. Hopefully, the person owning the qualities will take the feedback on the chin and work to do better. If not with the person presenting feedback but with people in the future. Although, I would understand if the person didn’t take the feedback too kindly. Then again, can you really craft a great personality after previously possessing a bland one? I’m not sure if personalities can be shifted to become more grand or fun in nature or a person must work with what they have already. I wish you much success and luck with navigating around people with various good and bad qualities.”

Advice On Triumphing Past The Fear Of Failure

Hello Everyone!

How are you spending your time on your post holiday Tuesday evening!? In light of people getting sick at an exponential rate lately, I hope you have a safe, happy, and healthy year. Try your best to not get sick and stay healthy. I opted to find you another question from Quora so that we can review and chew on the details together. This chosen topic is about the fear of failure. Why not share how to push past the fear of failure and to push on to smash your goals? I decided to also tackle this question by thinking about what I would do if I was in this situation. I shared a story about my time in the U.S. Navy Seabees in ‘A’ electrical school. As part of the schooling, we had to climb 45-foot utility poles and perform a pole top rescue. One of my biggest fears was falling from the utility pole and getting a proper time on my pole top rescue. Without giving away the journey, I won’t give further details and spoil the opportunity to read the response. Therefore, here is the posed question and my response listed below:

POSED QUESTION:

“What is the fear of being a failure called?”

By Babatunde Peter

MY RESPONSE:

“There is actually a technical term for the fear of failure. The term atychiphobia means that a person has an irrational fear of failure. Sometimes this fear might emerge in response to a specific situation. In other cases, it might be related to another mental health condition such as anxiety or depression. I have empathy for anyone who goes further down into the pits of fear. In an effort help people spot their own fear of failure, I’m sharing 10 signs that you may have a fear of failure.

Here are 10 signs that you may have a fear of failure:

Failing makes you worry about what other people think about you.

Failing makes you worry about your ability to pursue the future you desire.

Failing makes you worry that people will lose interest in you.

Failing makes you worry about how smart or capable you are.

Failing makes you worry about disappointing people whose opinion you value.

You tend to tell people beforehand that you don’t expect to succeed in order to lower their expectations.

Once you fail at something, you have trouble imagining what you could have done differently to succeed.

You often get last-minute headaches, stomach aches, or other physical symptoms that prevent you from completing your preparation.

You often get distracted by tasks that prevent you from completing your preparation which, in hindsight, were not as urgent as they seemed at the time.

You tend to procrastinate and “run out of time” to complete you preparation adequately.

I personally believe that everyone has a fear of failure. Perhaps the people who don’t fear it are not as vested in the results or carry ultra confidence in their own ability to achieve success. Thinking back, I have passed on a few opportunities due to my fear of failure. On the other hand, my stubbornness and sheer desire to accomplish a goal overshadowed the fear of not accomplishing it. On the other hand, I have warriored through some challenges in my life. I will share one crazy story where I had to push through my intense fear in order to smash a goal. I first entered the construction trade, as a woman, back in the early 1990’s. I had a dad who gassed me up telling me that I was smart, strong, and capable of anything. I carried that with me into my ‘A’ school in the U.S. Navy Seabees as I was becoming an electrician as an 18-year old kid. As part of my ‘A’ school, I had to climb 45-foot utility poles with climbing gear. Despite my intense fear of falling and hitting the bottom, I forced myself to push past my fear and keep going. I believe that my fear of not finishing what I started pushed me past my fear of falling. I saw guys fall off the pole and it wasn’t pretty. I saw one guy’s pants rip open while wooden splinters went into his skin while he dropped to the ground. Seeing that accident made climbing even harder than it was before. My uniform was soaked and wet with sweat each day I climbed. Toward the end of the schooling, I managed to fall 20-feet and went in an ambulance with (2) possibly broken legs. Instead, I had shin splints and bad ankles. I had to work rigorously in physical therapy to get myself well enough to rejoin my team. Thankfully, I healed enough to get back on the field with my classmates. Any fear of possibly falling was amplified since I actually experienced the pain and suffering of falling. The hardest thing ever was pushing myself to climb again once the doctor cleared me for duty. The task remained of a timed pole top rescue. This task required me to climb the pole, place a fallen 200 lb. dummy on my back, and bring them back down to the ground. I pushed past my fear of pain from falling again and worked on the pole top rescue. To my surprise, I passed the challenge with a time of around 4-minutes. I believe I feared more of being pushed out of the Seabees program and working somewhere else within the Navy for the duration of my active duty obligation. I had to focus on the prize and not the fear itself. We all have encountered fears that come from different experiences. You have to want the prize and push that fear to the back of your mind. If anything, use that fear as fuel to go after what you desire to accomplish. The adrenaline rush that comes from your fear can put you in warrior mode. You have to figure out how to harness it and block out anyone who extends negative energy your way. I wish you much luck and success on your journey towards overpowering fear and going after your heart’s desire.”

Short story #9 is entitled, “I’m Working On The Railroad With The Tools As A Chick!”. I released short story #9 and it went live last month. I have to finish editing short story #10 so that is coming when I feel better. If anyone has read any of my other short stories, by all means let me know what you think? I have some irons in the fire as far as some more upcoming podcast guests for after the holidays. I even have an acquaintance who is a practicing Satanist. I’m curious as to his/her path from transitioning from being a Catholic to a Satanist. I have sent out the questions so he/she can prepare for the interview. I need more time to heal up from this illness since speaking is tough without coughing. Therefore, I am pushing the interview towards next week. Melissa and I need to find time to discuss our impending topic on our most embarrassing moments. It’s now time for me to work on some projects that have been on the back burner. Now go carry on with your Tuesday schedule during this new work week. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!
