Project Safe Consulting CEO, Leslie M. Jasper

Leslie M. Jasper is the CEO and owner of Project Safe Consulting Inc. Ms. Jasper first got into construction when she joined the U.S. Navy Seabees as a constructionman apprentice electrician on June 20, 1993. Upon an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Ms. Jasper relocated to New York. Not long after relocating to New York, Ms. Jasper became a lighting installer for a non-union electrical contractor. Ms. Jasper’s first ambition was to join the Local #3 IBEW New York union as an apprentice and became a journeywoman electrician. The 2008 Recession prompted Ms. Jasper to go back to college and earn her MBA from Iona College. She used her education and taught courses and served as a writing coach for union electrician apprentices in the evening at Empire College for 7-8 years. After spending 19-years working with the tools in the field, Ms. Jasper opted to start learning the office side of the electrical business.  Ms. Jasper started out with the opportunity to learn auto-CAD in the engineering department for one of the largest electrical contractors in New York City. She then shifted her focus and became an electrical project manager on multi-million dollar projects all around the boroughs of New York City. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Jasper started focusing on earning several safety credentials. Ms. Jasper currently holds a NYC site safety manager license, Construction Health Safety Technician (C.H.S.T.), Associate Safety Professional (A.S.P.), and Certified Safety Professional (C.S.P.). Ms. Jasper wanted to get into the business of working on fulfilling federal and state contracts; this is why Project Safe Consulting Inc. was born. Ms. Jasper wants to always learn new things while growing the business. She hopes to pass down the business and knowledge gained onto her two sons Tom and Johnny. Ms. Jasper has a Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel and podcast where she showcases New York construction safety topic videos and brings up topics as a female construction worker in New York.. She is also a published author of both an adult non-fiction book and a children’s fiction book. Ms. Jasper wrote about her first five years as an apprentice electrician that is entitled, “Construction Tales: Volume I: A Woman’s Journey To Become An Electrician”. The children’s book is entitled, “Not All Girls Play With Dolls”. Both books can be found on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, and Audible.
