Hello Everyone!

The LoHud Article On (12/04/21) Saturday Night’s Championship Game at Syracuse University:

How are you spending your time on your Tuesday afternoon!? As I shared in my advice post previously, I spent part of the weekend up in Syracuse to watch my son and his team WIN the New York state football championship for their division!! There was some snow but not a tremendous amount which made the trek up there not so bad. I was bracing myself for getting stuck driving in a snowstorm. I have many hours and miles of drive time in the snow and it is not my favorite thing to do. Of course we can’t leave Syracuse without stopping to get some Syracuse University team gear. It was super exciting to watch the game in the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University. It makes it even more special when one of your kids is on the field with his team. This road trip for the state championship game was a 4-hour ride from New York City. I left the city and grabbed my eldest son Tom after work in the suburbs. My eldest son Tom is ten years older than his little “big” brother and is an alumni Carmel Ram. I say little “big” brother since Johnny is at least 6′ foot, 2″ inches and a size 14 shoe. It is humorous when Tom inherits his little brother’s stuff that he can no longer fit into anymore. Tom was very much involved with his football practice and games since middle school. He sometimes gets frustrated that Johnny doesn’t put in as much energy as he would like for him to do so. Going to Syracuse University to play in the Carrier Dome was an absolute dream for Tom that wasn’t fulfilled. Therefore, watching his brother be on the field was rewarding for him as well. I was thrilled to see my son come running to look for his brother and I as soon as he could at the end of the game. He was frustrated that he didn’t get to play as he wanted to do so. The good thing is that he is a junior so he has another year of football ahead of him. Due to the height of the bleachers, I could only hold his hand. As promised, I’m sharing the pictures and YouTube videos that I took while I was in the bleachers watching the game. I’m proud of my son for putting in the work to join the team and be a part of a winning varsity football team. I got feedback from other Carmel Ram alumni on Facebook who said that this year’s winning Carmel Rams football team made them happy that they won. They said it put them back to their youth and made them feel young again. It was a dream of theirs that was realized this year. The last time that Carmel High School won a division title was back in 1989. No one in the entire Putnam County went to state and won a championship ever! There is a parade honoring the football team on December 11, 2021 at @11AM. It is wonderful to see the entire town give them the recognition that they earned.

The team had to be at school at 7AM to get on the bus by 830AM so they could head upstate. They took the bus as a group and checked into a local hotel. The team practiced and watched film and feasted on pasta as a team. They played Buffalo Bennett high school at the Carrier Dome on Saturday, December 4, 2021 @3PM. It was broadcasted on CBS Sports and through a private network. I heard the tape of the game is available through one of those media platforms. As they have played in the past, they absolutely dominated AGAIN in their state championship win against Buffalo Bennett!! By the end of 4th quarter, the Carmel Rams stomped out the competition with a 42-12 major win!! I must say that the Carrier Dome field at Syracuse University is huge and impressive!!! The Buffalo Bennett team did put up a great fight and was their best competition to date! I believe Newburgh Free Academy was the second best team that they faced. During this final game, the Carmel Rams were the first team to score a touchdown and a kick. Additionally, their defensive line was effective on keeping Carmel from scoring even more! Carmel set the pace of the game in the very beginning. It didn’t seem like Carmel was doing too many amazing, fake plays as they usually do. The Buffalo Bennett players were bigger and more muscular than the Carmel players! That was a detail that I noticed in the beginning. However, it didn’t help them win the game. As a spectator, we were all very involved in the game. I can only imagine how hard it was for the opposing team to lose at the Carrier Dome!! Win or lose, what an honor it was for a high school team to play on a NCA Division #1 football field!! When we were out walking to the car, we heard some Buffalo Bennett players screaming about how they lost and how upset they were for not winning. From a distance, it sounded like a group of them were cursing out the coach. I was slightly humored by the absolute disgust in the teenage player’s exchange. This was another great game! Here are four YouTube #short video clips of the field early on in the game that was held at Syracuse University at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. I will load up more of the videos today. Here are a few for now:

I was thrilled for the impromptu road trip and absolutely excited for them no matter if they won or lost. I was even happier to see them win the state Division AA title at Syracuse University. The way they have been playing, this was going to be the outcome. We had heard that Bennett High School had been dominating just as hard as the Carmel Rams have been doing all season. I heard that the game is being broadcasted on local #12 news on television. I can’t say it enough that I am happy for my son that he was a part of this amazing experience. Johnny will get more play time next year as a senior. That is if he chooses to play again next year. There is tremendous value with learning how to work together as a team that translates well in the real world. Observing Johnny evolve with growth and become super excited to play on the field was great to witness over the past few months. There was much good that came from his participation with his varsity football team. That reason alone made sitting on the sidelines in the cold very much worth it. I thank you for stopping by to read about how I’m bragging as a proud parent and member of a group of parents who witnessed our kids take it to the next level. I am sharing my (6) latest podcast episodes that have been released for The Verbally Disastrous Podcast, via links for Spotify & YouTube down below. If you are into reading on a Kindle, check out my newest short story release that belongs to my Construction Tales-Told By A Woman Kindle Vella Library short story series on Amazon down below. Short story #8 is entitled, “Surviving The 2008 Recession As A Construction Worker”. If anyone has read any of my other short stories, by all means let me know what you think? I have some irons in the fire as far as some upcoming podcast guests. I even have an acquaintance who is a practicing Satanist. I figure that this subject is rather mysterious. I’m curious as to his path from transitioning from being a Catholic to a Satanist. My buddy Brian has also agreed to join me in a conversation this week. Brian is a fellow journeyman electrician who has relocated to work in California. In addition to working with the tools as a fellow “sparkie”, Brian is into photography and some creative project submissions. I will share his work in an upcoming blog post so you can check out his work ahead of the podcast episode. It’s now time for me to work on some other tasks that need my attention. Try to enjoy your Tuesday in your grind during this ongoing work week. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

I shared my latest short story that has been loaded up to my Construction Tales-Told By A Woman Kindle Vella Library on Amazon recently. The latest short story is entitled: #8 Surviving The 2008 Recession As A Construction Worker. I decided to write about the impact of the 2008 Recession on myself and my family. I managed to get caught up in this vicious cycle of unemployment that happened as a result of the economic recession. Boy, was that an emotionally draining part of my life! I wanted to share the story in an effort to make the reader aware of how deeply the construction industry was impacted by the actions on Wall Street. This short story is now also available as two Verbally Disastrous podcast episodes.

EXPANDED FURTHER-Advice On Picking Up Romantic Cues From A Shy Person

Hello Everyone!

How are you spending your time on your Monday evening!? I spent part of the weekend up in Syracuse to watch my son and his team WIN the New York state football championship for their division!! There was some snow but not a tremendous amount. We can’t leave Syracuse without stopping to get some Syracuse University team gear. It was exciting to watch the game in the Carrier Dome at Syracuse University. The road trip was a 4-hour ride from New York City. I rode up and grabbed my eldest son Tom after work. He is an alumni Carmel Ram so watching his brother be on the field was rewarding. I was happy to see my son come running to look for his brother and I as soon as he could at the end of the game. I will share the pictures and video when I get a chance in another blog post. I’m proud of my son for putting in the work to join the team and be a part of a winning varsity football team. In other great news, I recently got my approval letter from the Department of Buildings for my Site Safety Manager license for New York City!! My appointment has been issued for tomorrow so I should be scooping up my license if there are no hold ups. I am looking forward to that new journey and plan to podcast about it in the future. I have some irons in the fire as far as some podcast guests. I even have an acquaintance who is a practicing Satanist. I figure that this subject is rather mysterious. I’m curious as to his path from being a Catholic to a Satanist. My buddy Brian has agreed to join me in a conversation this week. Brian is a fellow journeyman electrician who has relocated to work in California. In addition to working with the tools as a fellow “sparkie”, Brian is into photography and some creative project submissions. I will share his work in an upcoming blog post so you can check out his work ahead of the podcast episode.

As you know, I go on Quora to check out some questions as my usual portal to pull topics for discussion. This requested question asks about whether a shy guy’s subtle cues can be misinterpreted. I gave a rather brief opinion on the subject matter initially. The original author of the topic did reach out and ask deeper on the question. I totally respect him wanting to pull deeper from me on the topic. I appreciated him politely calling me on the carpet about my response. I then proceeded to review his second response and offer a more thorough reflection based upon what he shared with me. I’m aware that I can be a little rough around the edges. It is not my goal to totally steam roll over the young man. I’m merely a person who was raised to come up with solutions, take action, and not try to hang my hat on excuses. I’ve never been about marinating in a “victim role” at all. I know we all go through stuff and we do get wrapped up in emotions. You should just not sit in it for very long. I went line by line in his subsequent response and tried to be attentive to his talking points. I will share both his second probe and my second response to it as well. Despite him expanding further, I still think that the best approach to speaking to the object of your affection is through being direct and to the point. Despite shyness and autism, trying the best to being direct is best. Without being creepy, of course. Anything less can be misinterpreted and subjected to wasting time. I believe that no matter who you are, you are required to practice a lot before meeting your perfect fit. A man who is direct about what he wants, despite any limitations, will give off a sexy vibe. A guy needs to fake that confidence to the max since it is appealing quality no matter if the girl is initially interested or not. Even if a woman was not remotely interested before, ya might peak her interest by coming in very confident.

That courage would indeed be noticed since it is alpha in nature. I try to be mindful of the courage that was used to approach a woman cold. I try to be as kind as possible about the let down. Any person who is mean or nasty to a person who simply asked you out is just a cruel soul. Unless the person is a million degrees of creepy, there is no reason to be rude. A person who doesn’t honor a person’s honest feedback of not being interested is now in the zone to face ridicule fair and square. Now, is it much easier to approach a person on their online dating profile?? Which method do you prefer? Meeting a person on the street or through a dating app? There are pros vs cons of trying to approach a person within the world of online dating. Online dating can be a whole hell of a lot easier to dodge rejection on your computer versus facing it in person. The rough thing about dating online is that people can be vague with their self representation with their photos. It absolutely sucks to waste your precious time meeting your date who ends up not looking remotely like their photos! Why are people choosing to not be a fair reflection with their posted photos?!!? I will never understand a person who posts old and/or misleading photos!!! Why waste another person’s time?! If you do not like your photos, then why waste the other person’s time?? I dealt with a man over the summer who held off meeting for awhile. His photos did not match his current look at all. To make matters even worse, he acted like dating was his back burner activity to do when he was bored. There is nothing that matches in-person chemistry or lack thereof. The good thing about the online thing is that I can hide behind my keyboard and quietly reject a person’s unwanted advances after meeting them. Even I am not immune to delivering some old fashioned ghosting. I don’t do it very much compared to how often it has been done to me. I did it a few times when I wasn’t sure on how to proceed with the situation. I was having an inner battle in my head on whether or not I wanted to keep it moving with the situation. I ended up being very delayed with my decision process and I was rather delayed with my response. At that time, I felt like it was time to quietly cut my losses and fade out. You can’t force chemistry when it doesn’t exist.

I’m very much against any form of deception after some bad past experiences. The fact that you have to ask a man whether he is married or not is disgusting!! Some of these clowns post profile photos with a wedding band!! Who accepts that as being not a big deal!? God bless you if you have a very logical thought process where accepting a married person is beneficial to you. As the person I am today, I see no value that comes from dealing with a married man. I did deal with a guy who was separated for several years before getting divorced. I got from that situation exactly what was offered. As a grieving widow, I was using it to insulate myself from getting married. Thankfully, I’m past that stage in life. You have to ask in the beginning if that the other person is married. It’s almost as if you don’t ask, it’s your fault for not asking. Meanwhile, you shouldn’t even be on a dating app while tied to another person in any form. I am really not fond of men being misleading with photos, lying about their age, their relationship status, or any other important information. People should be honest and let others make the choice to engage with you despite being married. There are a variety of reasons for a person to drop off the radar in the very beginning of a connection. It is not your worry to think much further that they lost interest. You very well may have dodged a bullet. I don’t believe in, “the one who got away” since it wasn’t meant to be in the first place. We are not meant for all people that we meet to ride off into the sunset together. I’m aware that putting yourself out there on the dating market takes courage to even pull off. To make the very first approach takes even more courage so that is admirable. We must kiss a lot of toads to finally catch up with our prince or princess. It’s important to just push through each date and don’t get emotionally attached in the beginning. Match their efforts and energy. If a person falls off with communication, you should fall back. A lazy person in the beginning will be an absolute sloth in a relationship!! I’ve made the mistake of being the motivated person in a relationship while I allowed the lazy person to be lazy. Besides, practice makes perfect so keep practicing. There is a person for everyone in this world. We are meant to grow and learn in this life. If the person doesn’t grow and learn at the same pace with you, they need to stay behind. Now, here is the first and second posed question and my first and second response below.

FIRST POSED QUESTION:

“Is it possible for a person to mistake someone to being not interested in them, when that someone actually is, but is just too nervous or shy to show it?”

By Austin Stephen Wright

SECOND FEEDBACK QUESTION:

“I hope this doesn’t come out the wrong way. To start off, I have autism, high-functioning. I also am extremely shy (as is my case as a result from being constantly ostracized growing up and not permitted to join into any friend groups as many have considered me to be socially awkward, which is due to my autism). One with autism, depending on the type of autism, can only go so far as to how to be make a good impression. Especially if someone has been ostracized and not permitted in joining friend groups growing up and is used to not being permitted, and that’s mostly all they know, and they have autism, it’s extremely difficult to make an impression on someone they are attracted to. They can only to the best they know how. In my situation it has not been enough, but I assume that why many are not impressed no matter how hard I try is because of shallowness.

It is a given that I’m different socially. Despite my different traits, I believe that I can make an impression upon someone, but that can’t happen if they are not willing to be understanding of someone’s different attributes. I understand that there is this “got to make a first impression” thing, but I feel like becoming impressed depends on one’s own openness to other’s possible differences. I have not exactly seen this one movie, like only snippets, but the movie Shallow Hal, starring Jack Black, MIGHT be a good example here. Maybe? Idk.

What I’m trying to say is, I might come of as socially awkward due to my autism, but I feel like even if my social awkwardness and shyness were to be so extreme, they don’t have to be the “impression killer” if the girl tries to look at me and my situation from a different perspective, and doing so can help me feel comfortable around her and her friends and whoever else enough for me become less and less socially awkward and shy! I have noticed that the more people are indifferent towards someone’s awkwardness, it makes it more nerve wracking for that someone to even try, as from constant experiences they know or feel like they know for sure that those people won’t welcome them and so they shy away not even trying anymore, because those people are just going to turn them away like most of others have done from other times before.

I don’t know. For those people to say such a someone to be so socially awkward and shy deserves to be in the friendzone when it comes to dating, and that that’s the best they can do, is limiting and is misunderstanding the true potential of that person who is socially awkward and shy. That if they are allowed to be given more time to show what they’ve got, they can potentially come off as impressive enough later on. Those people giving them time and a chance throughout that span of time, can also help them become more comfortable and less shy while around those people which will help them to more comfortably express themselves in a more confident manner knowing that these people really are giving him/her a chance.

With all of this said, I don’t think the friendzone is fair to put someone into, as it’s usually used so abruptly without a chance given to the other who is being tested. With this said, I feel like the friendzone is a shallow notion. Usually the friendzone is when you’ve decided to put someone into the friendzone, when you’ve only given them a few days to a few weeks to get to know them as friends and see if they are someone who may have potential for something more. I feel like helping them feel comfortable around you enough to be friends with you, to where they are no longer socially awkward and shy around you and your friends, needs to happen first before you study them to see if they have potential for a romantic relationship, and that studying them to see if they have potential for a romantic relationship is something you’d find interested in having with them is something that needs to happen before putting them in the “friendzone.” This way you’ve at least given them the time necessary.

This is how I feel about utilizing putting someone into the friendzone. It leaves more room for chances and more time for discovery about someone else’s character.

I hope this didn’t come out the wrong way. I just feel like people these days usually are not utilizing the process of friend zoning others as wisely as they can.”

By Austin Stephen Wright

MY FIRST RESPONSE:

“Yes, it is possible to not pick up on the subtle cues from a nervous/shy admirer. The signals can be confusing and rather vague. However, an experienced person who has dealt with shy people in the past may pick it up. Despite it being 2021, we are still not mind readers. On the other hand, the admirer who absolutely drips with thirst can even be mistaken for humor if the delivery is so over the top. The only sure fire way to let a person know you are interested is through being direct, prepare to weather the potential rejection, and move accordingly. A person who is naturally being upbeat and friendly can be mistaken for flirting as well. Subtle cues can be interpreted in many different ways. The ability to pick up cues hinge on the person’s past and present experiences with romantic interests. It is not easy for anyone to approach another person since rejection is painful. It is admirable to get courage to ask out a person that you really like. Remember that many women and men do not have your courage to consider approaching a person of interest. You must ask yourself why are you so shy? Remind yourself that the worst thing that can happen is that the person says no. Hopefully, there is no high punishment to face for just asking a question. The sting of rejection will only last a day or two tops. Is your gut telling you that this is not the right move, via your nerves? Always go with your gut. For every person who is not interested, there is a person waiting for you to approach them. Do what feels right and refuse to linger in what doesn’t feel right for very long. There are many toads to kiss before we find our prince or princess. I wish you much luck in your journey.”

By Leslie M. Jasper

MY SECOND RESPONSE:

“Hi Austin, I thank you for sharing your root cause as to why you are shy and socially awkward. No, it didn’t come off the wrong way. You are better at articulating what is going on in your life and how you think and feel better than many older adults. Hold great pride in that fact. I thank you for giving further details and giving me your input on my initial advice. In an effort to let you know that I have somewhat of an understanding, I will share that I faced both the side effects and direct impact of domestic violence in my childhood. This experience put fear into my heart and also made me socially awkward and extremely shy. When I say extremely shy, I graduated high school a virgin. My first attempt at a boyfriend lasted two weeks and was during my sophomore year. I then tried to have a boyfriend my senior year just in time for prom. Thankfully, that young man was a gentleman. If I was a man, I would have struggled with approaching the opposite sex. I’m aware that my home field advantage is being a woman and awaiting for a man to make obvious advances my way. I managed to slightly get out of my extreme shyness, via being a part of the school band when I played the trumpet. I was able to use music to help me work with the group of other bandmates. I’m not sure of your age and if that is even an option for you. Your advantage is that you have the internet and access to like minded groups who share your similar experiences. I grew up as a kid in the 80’s to early 90’s and did not have the internet as a tool. Remember, your past is only your foundation and doesn’t define you. I had to constantly remind myself as a young adult that what I experienced in my childhood did not have to translate into my present and future. You sound like you want to work on your socialization skills and push away from your past. As long as you have this goal, keep taking baby steps each and every day. I also understand about the whole socially awkward part of your life. I was the kid to kept to myself since I grew up in a sheltered home with little to no social interaction with other kids until I hit school. We never had guests in our house growing up. As an adult, I find my home my sanctuary and have limited visitors. I prefer to go to their house and hang out then come home to my peace and quiet. I am open to going to socialize with a group of people. However, I look forward to my solitude at home. I know that my +27 year career as a journeywoman electrician turned project/safety manager in construction has worked tremendously to push me out of my comfort zone with socializing with different people from all walks of life. I learned how to socialize as a construction worker which is a rather unique experience. I tend to come off as a little rough around the edges and take on a rather direct approach. I’m sure that this can be misinterpreted to some people. I tend to think about a subject more logically and less emotionally due to my background.

Despite I am sharing my background that has some parallels with your background, I am aware that I cannot fully understand the magnitude of your experiences. However, I am taking what you have shared into consideration with revising my advice for you. What I am understanding is that you feel like your socializing toolbox is rather limited and you are looking for some tips on how to add more tools to the social toolbox? Do you have a Play Station? Both of my sons, aged 16 & 26-years old, have Play Station and regularly socialize with people on the internet. It’s fair to say that my 16-year old is very shy and reserved like I am in social settings. I know you shared that you feel like you have been extremely unsuccessful with your attempts to socialize with a romantic interest. Meanwhile, socializing with the opposite sex is a challenge for anyone who is bold to attempt it. I can tell you that it is not easy for people who do not perceive that they have medical issues that impede their socialization abilities. In some respects, the internet is a very handy tool yet has it’s many drawbacks. My Verbally Disastrous Podcast co-host Melissa and I spoke about this topic. The online dating world gives so many choices that it confusing for all with extra, extra opportunities. Before the internet, dating was oftentimes limited to where you can connect geographically. Now that the internet exists, people do not stick within the confines of their own town. They branch out and connect with folks they would have never bothered connecting with before. You can now develop a relationship before even laying eyes on the other person. When you can branch out to other geographic areas, there is no concern about ghosting people and/or not acting the same as they would if they stayed within their own town. It also appears that the top 10% of both genders have unlimited opportunities to date the 90% dating pool. It appears that opportunities are not so easy for folks deemed as “normal”. It would be logical that dating is even harder for anyone who has a disability of some form. I was reading that there is a large pool of young men who are in their 20’s and still virgins. Perhaps there are other factors that contribute to this trend such as video game marathoning and other isolated activities.

Don’t be so hard on yourself if what you are doing isn’t working. It takes quite awhile to connect with the right person during “normal” conditions. You must kiss many toads before before finding your princess no matter who you are my friend. You are a good writer who is able of taking your time and articulating what you. Perhaps you can connect with the ladies via starting a vlog on a YouTube channel or WordPress blog? Yes, people who are considered to be “shallow” are a by product of a social media influencer society. Despite being constantly bombarded with social media trends, I still believe that a good woman exists for you. It is going to just take you a little bit more of time and much practice to accomplish it. However, when you do find her, it will be a deep, more enriched experience. The connection may be on a higher level than what the average person experiences. The woman that you will connect with will not be shallow, love you beyond and fault, and with a connection that reaches depths that few will never grasp in their entire lives. You require patience and practice to accomplish this goal of finding the perfect puzzle piece for your unique puzzle. When you think about it in that context, it is a special mission that takes awhile to accomplish. Give yourself grace for not yet achieving what you want yet. As far as the movie entitled, “Shallow Hal” that you believe is an example of our society, you can’t focus on the few social media influencers that represent a small slice of our society. There are many good souls who walk the Earth who are good people and not shallow. These same people may or may not be influenced by our media nor do they engage in social media. If you believe that people are shallow, that is who you will attract. If you believe in genuine souls, that is exactly who you will attract. It is important to keep your mind both open and positive on this journey. This law of attraction applies to anyone on the planet. Here are some universal laws that come from the Law Of Attraction:

1). Like attracts like: This law suggests that similar things are attracted to one another. It means that people tend to attract people who are similar to them—but it also suggests that people’s thoughts tend to attract similar results. Negative thinking is believed to attract negative experiences, while positive thinking is believed to produce desirable experiences.

2). Nature abhors a vacuum: This law of attraction suggests that removing negative things from your life can make space for more positive things to take their place. It is based on the notion that it is impossible to have a completely empty space in your mind and in your life. Since something will always fill this space, it is important to fill that space with positivity, proponents of this philosophy say.

3). The present is always perfect: This law focuses on the idea that there are always things you can do to improve the present moment. While it might always seem like the present is somehow flawed, this law proposes that, rather than feeling dread or unhappiness, you should focus your energy on finding ways to make the present moment the best that it can be.

You indeed need to push past the “impression killer” challenge and work on keeping and staying positive on your ability to work on making a good impression on a young lady. Remember that making a great first impression is not impossible. Overthinking during a social situation and assuming that people are intolerable of your social awkwardness is not a good trap to fall into either. Don’t allow the bad energy of others to take away your power that stops you from In this day and age, there are many siblings and other family members of people who have autism. The number of autistic people have grown exponentially within the past 20 years. Family from that particular background may have developed a level of comfort with autism, a sense of empathy, as well as strategies that work to navigate behavior. It would make sense to connect with other autistic people on social media. Once connected, you can tap into the family members who may make a great match for you. A young woman with a great, loving heart is what you seek. Chances are pretty high that this young woman is not half naked and twerking on social media. She is more than likely studying in the library and working on some amazing goals. A young woman is involved with her church and charity work. A young woman who is involved with a non-profit organization doing some form of charity work may be a good catch. Yes, you must put on tunnel vision and block out the words and behavior of others around you. I had to learn to do that when I first started working with the tools and felt the eyes of the job on me at all times. It’s not easy to do but it can be done. You can’t keep giving power of your efforts to the unknown. If you find yourself taking a trip to the unknown, don’t allow yourself to stay there very long.

When I mentioned the friend zone, I spoke about an available door. I didn’t say anyone deserves to be put in the friend zone. It is an option that happens to men and women all around the world. You can’t force anyone to not put you in the friend zone. You can only manage your own feelings and behavior. Yes, only thinking that you are going to be in the friend zone is very limiting. Just know that this is an option if you two cannot make a connection. As far as receiving more time to make a first impression, that is up to the young lady who you are trying to impress and nothing less. When someone puts you in the friend zone, they have made an assessment. Yes, studying a young woman’s personality and behavior before making a move is vital prior to inserting yourself into the equation to see if you have a shot at the title. Is is worth it to know exactly the reasons as to why you were placed in the friend zone? No, it is best to walk away and go in a different direction and work on a person who is that right puzzle piece for your very unique puzzle. Finding that right person, right time, same key values, same morals, same family and religious values, and other details that are important to you is not an easy feat. It is not meant to discourage you. It is meant to let you know that it takes time to find the right person so go easy on yourself. Beware of your mindset and where you dedicate your energy. Divert that energy from focusing on what didn’t work and head towards the realm of a new opportunity to connect.

I remember a co-worker who used to say this phrase, “good food takes time to prepare.” A great, quality relationship is something that takes time to find and develop. As a young man, you have way more time than a young woman to find a great partner. A woman has a biological clock and you don’t have that. The more time you give yourself to find the right person, you can develop your empire even further in the meantime. If you put too much pressure on yourself, you won’t have a mind open to process the viability of a relationship. Give yourself plenty of time to find the right person since you do have time on your side. Is it possible to find a platonic female friend or sister to help you work on your interaction skills? If not, go onto YouTube and find some good guys who give dating advice tutorials. Read more blogs from relationship coaches that give good ways to approach the young ladies. There are groups of young men who are in the same situation such as yourself. Try to connect with them and the people who are in their lives. Be kind to yourself with the process. Give yourself a break from dating when needed. Know that you have time to find what fits for you. Remember that good women exist. They are just not on social media just aimlessly trying to get attention from strangers on the internet. Many young women like guys with a sense of humor and confidence. Not all young women have the same expectations and patience. The best encounters happen in life when there is no pressure or expectations. Maintain a good mindset and be open to great things that go your way. Positive thinking brings positive results. Practice makes perfect. I felt like I owed you this expanded discussion on your topic. Here is my list of tips to help you with the process:

01.) You will need to keep pursuing the ladies until you meet the right girl. It takes time no matter who you are.

02.) Practice with a good male friend with role playing as you would be talking to a young lady. Keep practicing solo in a mirror.

03.) Look for a favorite YouTube creator who is a dating coach. You should get some great pick-up lines to use.

04.) Write out how you feel about a young lady and walk away from it. Re-read it out loud in the mirror the next day to see if it makes sense to use.

05.) Be willing to be patient with yourself with the process since it is easy for no one unless they are a celebrity.

06.) Find groups of young men who are in the same situation as yourself. Connect with their network of people. Siblings of an autistic person may work.

07.) Don’t focus on what has not been said. Only focus on what has actually been said and move accordingly.

08.) Stay in the continuous mindset that the amazing person is there and just within reach.

09.) Don’t focus on the negative energy of others. Develop tunnel vision that blocks out the bad energy of others.

10.) Don’t keep the mindset on what didn’t work. Move on and be excited about the new opportunity to date an amazing woman.

11.) Don’t worry about the friend zone. You can find value with women who friend zone you. Have them mentor you on what would work for them and then use that data to your advantage on the next young lady.

12.) Study a young woman’s words and actions. You can’t make a hoe a housewife. You can’t make a selfish woman a great mother. Consider her words and behavior as lessons learned.

13.) Write out some key characteristics you want in a young lady. Keep that note bedside and read it out loud periodically. You are working on manifesting what you want by speaking life into it each time by telling God and the Universe what you want.

14.) Get involved in charity work and look for those single ladies that are involved in donating their time and/or money to a good cause. Those girls could have a heart of gold that you seek.

15.) Figure out how to connect with others in your community, via volunteering with the local church or soup kitchen. There are bound to be young ladies doing the same.

16.) Remind yourself that you do not have a biological clock to worry yourself about as a man.

17.) Remind yourself that you have what it takes to meet someone wonderful and you will get that opportunity at some point.

18.) Review the Law Of Attraction and see if you are missing any ingredients that are needed.

19.) Invest in a dating coach that is affordable and can be found online. Review their tutorials online ahead of time before investing.

20.) Check out speed dating or single mixers that are in your area. Have it in your mind that you are “just practicing” and maybe it will ease your nerves.

21.) Learn to crack jokes at your own flaws. Humor always helps to ease an anxious mind. I’ve often cracked jokes at myself to lighten up the room.

22.) Try to develop a platonic relationship with a young lady. This young lady can serve as a mentor and coach and slip you into the real thing.

23.) Be kind to yourself and give plenty of patience.

24.) Don’t forget to pat yourself on the back for even the smallest wins in life. Why?? You deserve it!

What do you think about my offering of my advice that has been expanded even further? Would your advice be different or much of the same? Are you in the same boat as this young man? Did I offer some pointers or did I just group a bunch of non-cohesive words together? I give every man on the planet who must approach a woman cold a lot of credit. If I was a man, I would have had such a tough time trying to date. I said it before and I’m saying it again. I might still be a virgin if I was a dude. I’m super serious with my position. As an older chick, I am not as shy as I was in my teens and 20’s. Yes, I’m aware that I lack shyness here in my blog and on my podcast. Thankfully, I have evolved quite a bit compared to my youth. Then again, none of my creative and work ventures are romantically linked in the least bit. When it comes to the first few date nights, I am still horribly shy. I feel better once I get past the first few dates. The funny thing is that when I’m on the jobsite, I love to chat it up with co-workers and break balls relentlessly. There is a level of comfort with being the annoying sister on the job in reference to my co-workers. My home persona is more low-key than the work persona. I’m very quiet when I am in my personal sanctuary. Then again, I’m aware that I’m biased on my own behavior. I’m probably a HUGE loud mouth when I’m with my friends; especially with Melissa! 😛 We have the best energy when we get together and many laughs! I’m sure another podcast is coming this week! I know that I said that last week but it needs to come out this week. We need to discuss our most embarrassing moments since we have a few that are quite humorous. I have to figure out when we are getting together for that brand of Tom foolery. Stay tuned for that laugh session! As always, I’m sharing my (6) latest podcast episodes that have been released for The Verbally Disastrous Podcast, via links for Spotify & YouTube down below. It’s now time to work on some other tasks and work on making my day as productive as possible. I have been coming back and forth to this blog to keep writing it out. I put some thought and consideration into my expanded advice. Try to enjoy your Monday evening during this brand-new work week. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

Advice On Picking Up Romantic Cues From A Shy Person

Hello Everyone!

How are you spending your time on your Wednesday morning!? Are you working or on vacation? Maybe dreaming about vacation while at work? Hopefully, I am offering something of value for you to read while you start your morning to serve as a minor distraction. If not, carry on my friend. I’ll post something that you will be interested in later on. 🙂 I got some excellent news in my emails this morning!! I received my approval letter from the Department of Buildings for my Site Safety Manager license for New York City!! My appointment has been requested so I am awaiting the date. I am looking forward to that new journey and plan to podcast about it in the future. I will discuss further on my path to becoming a safety manager very soon. For now, I am checking out some questions on my usual portal to pull from on Quora. This requested question asks about whether a shy guy’s subtle cues can be misinterpreted. I would say that anything can be misunderstood. The best approach to speaking to the object of your affection is through being direct and to the point. Anything less can be misinterpreted. Is there a saying that, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”? Worst case scenario, it is practice for when you meet your perfect fit. I find a man who is direct about what he wants to be a sexy quality. Even if I am not remotely interested, I value his courage to reach out and ask. That courage is indeed noticed and I try to be ask kind as possible about the let down. Any person who is mean or nasty to a person who simply asks you out is just a cruel soul! However, a person who doesn’t honor a person’s honest feedback of not being interested is now in the zone to face ridicule fair and square. Do you agree or disagree on this? There are pros vs cons of trying to approach a person within the world of online dating. Online dating can be a whole hell of a lot easier to dodge rejection on your computer versus in person. The rough thing about dating online is that people can be vague with their self representation with their photos. Sometimes it sucks to waste time meeting the person who ends up not being a fair reflection of their posted photos. No matter the photos good or bad, there is nothing that matches in-person chemistry or lack thereof. On the plus, you can hide behind your keyboard and quietly reject a person’s unwanted advances after meeting them. If you experience some good old fashioned ghosting, it is best to keep it moving. There are a variety of reasons for the person dropping off the radar. It is not your worry to think much further that they lost interest. You may have dodged a bullet. We are not meant for all people that we meet to go the distance with. I’m aware that putting yourself out there on the dating market takes courage to even pull off. We must kiss a lot of toads to finally catch up with our prince or princess. Just push through and keep trying. Practice makes perfect. There is a person for everyone in this world. Here is the posed question and my response below.

POSED QUESTION:

“Is it possible for a person to mistake someone to being not interested in them, when that someone actually is, but is just too nervous or shy to show it?”

By Austin Stephen Wright

MY RESPONSE:

What do you think about the advice? How would your advice be different? Are you a shy or outgoing person? I would say that if I was a man, I would have a rough time dating. I might still be a virgin if I was a dude. I’m like as serious as a heart attack! As an older chick, I am not as shy as I was in my teens and 20’s. Yes, I have a big mouth here in my blog and on my podcast. You’re not going to get an argument from me on that one. When it comes to the early days of dating, I am horribly shy. I feel better once I get past the first few dates. When I am on the jobsite, I love to chat it up with folks and break balls relentlessly. I’m sure my home persona is more low-key than the public persona. My current roommate tells me that I am too quiet. Meanwhile, a noisy roommate would be annoying. I’m very quiet when I am in my sanctuary. Then again, that is my biased opinion of myself. I’m probably more of a loud mouth when I’m with my friends; especially with Melissa! 😛 We have the best energy when we get together and many laughs! I’m sure another podcast is coming this week! Another Win For The Carmel Rams Against Newburgh Free Academy!!!

Photo Credit: Carmel Rams High School Varsity Class AA Playoff Game 47-13 Win Over Vs Newburgh Free Academy!

Hello Everyone!

The LoHud Article On (11/27/21) Saturday Night’s Game:

https://www.lohud.com/story/sports/high-school/varsity-insider/2021/11/27/carmel-football-beats-newburgh-class-aa-state-semifinal/8723968002/

How are you spending time on your Sunday evening!? Whatever your plans were on this long, 4-day weekend, hopefully you enjoyed your feast with friends and/or family? If you took the time to rest, hopefully that was a mission that was accomplished. I’m hosted my sons and cooked a mini feast this past week. I have plenty of leftovers. On Saturday, I got to continue to witness my son’s amazing moment in time with his varsity football team. My teenager Johnny and his varsity football team has been continuing to still experience some epic wins and this past weekend was not exception. As you are aware, this post is basically even more bragging about them
again!! ;P On Saturday night, they absolutely dominated AGAIN in their win against Newburgh Free Academy out of Newburgh, New York. By the end of 4th quarter, the Carmel Rams stomped out the competition with a 47-13 major lead!! Newburgh Free Academy put up a great fight! I must say that the field at Middletown High School is huge and impressive!!! They were the first to score a touchdown. Additionally, their wide receiver was about 6′ foot, 7″ inches tall! It felt like Newburgh was taking this game in the very beginning. It didn’t take long for Carmel to do some amazing plays where they were faking the play. As a spectator, we were confused who had the ball on the sidelines. I can only imagine who hard it was for the opposing team. As a result of winning yet another playoff game at Middletown High School, the team will be getting on a bus on Friday for the Saturday (12/4) at 3PM at Syracuse University. The boys will playing in the Carrier Dome at the university. What an honor for a high school team to play on a NCA Division #1 football field!! The Carmel Rams are playing against Section 6’s Buffalo Bennett at Syracuse University for the state Division AA championship!! This should be another great game! Here is the website of our teams competition out of Buffalo, New York:

https://buffaloah.com/a/main/2885/ext/

I’m thrilled for the impromptu road trip and absolutely excited for them no matter how far they go. I would like to see them win the title at Syracuse University. They way they have been playing, this is very possible. However, Buffalo Bennett has been dominating just as hard as the Carmel Rams have been doing all season. There is just this last game that is stopping them from taking the championship for their high school. It is a 4-hour journey in the car to get up to Syracuse. Hopefully, they will become the state champs for their division by next week. If not, they have had an amazing season at the very least! The game will be broadcasted on local #12 news on television. At the last game, my son was on the sidelines jumping up and down just before getting to get into the game. My son is hyped to play even more other sports throughout the year. He wants to get into wrestling and/or lacrosse. I am happy for my son that he is a part of this amazing experience. There are many kids on the team. The seniors get priority on the field as starters. My son Tom and I were laughing at how Johnny started badgering the line coach to get in the game once again. During last week’s game, he was chilling on the sidelines because he forgot his mouth guard. It was extremely cold on the sidelines on Saturday with a temperature of 27 degrees Fahrenheit. You would never tell that the team was cold when they were enjoying the energy of another team win. More play time next year as a senior will be in his future if he chooses to play next year. Here are some short video clips of the game last Saturday night!:

I am happy for my son that football has been an important event for him for the past few months. There is tremendous value with learning how to work together as a team. Seeing his motivation and being ultra excited to play on the field was great to witness. Finding out what he is capable of actually doing via achieving once activating that “beast mode” inside of him is epic!! All kids should be able to see their own super powers come out in a variety of different avenues. That reason alone makes sitting on the sidelines in the cold very much worth it. I thank you for stopping by to read about myself bragging as a proud parent.

Newly Released “Not All Girls Play With Dolls” Illustrations

Hello Everyone!

How is your Tuesday going today during you holiday week (if you indeed celebrate a holiday this week)!? We are getting closer to your feast that you will have with friends and/or family? I’m hosting my sons so I’m cooking a mini feast this week. I already started with planning and items on the menu for this week. Make sure you reach out to loved ones isolating themselves during the Thanksgiving festivities. They may be isolating this week due to Covid-19 or other factors such as a lack of finances. As I shared in an earlier post, I have another playoff game at Middletown High School on Saturday (11/27) at 6PM. The Carmel Rams are playing against Newburgh Free Academy next week as Middletown High School hosts the next playoff game. If the Carmel Rams defeat Newburgh Free Academy the following week after, on December 4, 2021, then they will be the trip up to Syracuse, New York for the state championship! I am looking forward to this game this upcoming weekend. Of course the day after Thanksgiving is known here in the United States as Black Friday. For the record, I’m not a Black Friday kind of person at all!! I have done it once in my entire adult life! That one experience made me absolutely miserable!! I then asked myself as to why I volunteered for this nonsense!? I am not fond of big crowds that test my patience either. Being within a very large metropolitan city with a bunch of people makes Black Friday even more overwhelming. I don’t think I would do Black Friday in a small town in a Walmart either. I just find it as an opportunity to act the fool with a strong desire to claw the eyes out of some other savage! It is not a good thing and best to avoid losing my shit over a stupid purchase that is not necessary in the big scheme of life. I’m just not desperate for purchases that may save me $10 bucks while disrupting my peace and possibly landing me into criminal trouble. I don’t see the value in that at all. If you are a Black Friday freak, let me know in the comments down below. If you are joining me as a Black Friday hater, give me a shout out in the comment section below.

Now that I am done ranting about Black Friday, let me tell you the real purpose of this blog post. My illustrator Anastasia, from Tad Art out of Russia, just sent me some drafts of the last of the illustrations for my first children’s book entitled, Not All Girls Play With Dolls. The book is intended to loosely share my life as a child and how I picked up my trade of choice as an electrician. It should inspire young girls to chase their dreams and don’t allow doubt or the negative vibes of others to get in the way. Once the illustrations are finished, it’s a matter of putting the words on the page and get it published and ready to go live. When you are an independent author, you can publish it to Createspace that creates the product as a print on demand for Amazon. It is the best way to get your book out into an audience without having to beg a publishing house or agent to take on your project. Even if I don’t sell many copies, this creative project gives me purpose and is my electronic and tangible legacy for my family. In the current social climate today, it may do better than when I first decided to work on the children’s book project. Unless I do the illustrations myself, it takes a long time to get it completed. I am entertaining the idea of doing my own illustrations in a future project. I am not sure if I will get frustrated with the process. I recently started painting, as of last winter, with my podcast co-host Melissa. Some paintings actually turned out cool and some are not my best work. I have fun and I am at peace while I am doing it so that is important. I shared my favorite painting so far up at the top of this blog post. Here are some recent draft illustrations from my upcoming children’s book entitled, Not All Girls Play With Dolls:

As a teenager, I used to drive the 18-wheelers into the bays so that my dad could perform service on them. I used to spend my summers in the truck shop helping him and learning how to perform mechanical work on them. I cut my teeth on learning different hardware sizes while working on cleaning material up in the shop. I had to get past the initial huge fear of failure, as a 14-year old girl, when I first started driving them in the yard for him. My dad knew what I was capable of doing even before I knew it. I grasped a pulse on my mechanical abilities based upon the score I received for my military exam, known by the acronym ASFAB, when I was 16-years old. I was offered a military career choice of becoming an airplane mechanic on an aircraft carrier. Instead, I chose to become an electrician. Dad always used to say that I was smart and strong so I was capable of doing anything I put my mind to doing. He said it so much and gave me these wild opportunities that I took. Over time, I believed what he said. The funny thing was that other drivers in the shop knew that I was moving the tractor trailers into the shop. It’s possible that the owner even knew that I was driving the trucks. I went from fearing an accident that would get my dad fired to absolutely becoming confident of my abilities. In retrospect, I am honored that my dad risked his job in order to give me a chance to gain major confidence. If I didn’t have that, I don’t know how I would have navigated my career in my young adult years. If I have to, I get under the hood of my own car and fix things when needed. My dad always used to tell me that people should not drive a car unless they at least know how to change a tire and the oil. With the invention of YouTube tutorials, I am willing to tackle just about anything if I have the proper tools. Here are some finished illustrations to share:

What do you think about the illustrations? I think Anastasia is very talented and an absolute pleasure to work with during this process. She has been extremely fair with prices and her approach to the project. If you are in need of some illustrations, look for Tad_Art on the website Fiverr. I would most definitely have Anastasia work on my future projects since she is so talented. I need to really beef up my creativeness in order to get to any level that she is on. Thankfully, I am able to hire her to work on my illustrations instead of frustrating myself by trying to do it myself. I plan to work further on my creativity and do some more paintings this Friday with Melissa. At some point, Melissa and I are going to sell the paintings somewhere online. I welcome any pointers on selling paintings online. Melissa is more into pour art instead of painting. Prior to trying out painting, my creativeness only extended to writing. I can thank a few of those Sip & Paint sessions to spark my curiosity as to what I can actually create. I will share some of my new artwork when I think to post it. I am halfway through another short story where I discuss my work experience of working along the railroad projects. I worked for a particular shop that only did that type of work for five years. It will become a future podcast episode as well so stay tuned. If anyone has read any of my other short stories, by all means let me know what you think? It’s now time to work on some other holiday tasks and get ready for the upcoming holiday. It’s time to buy a turkey today get get that baby ready!! Try to enjoy your Tuesday and what is left of the short holiday work week. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

I’m hosting my sons so I’m cooking a mini feast this week. Make sure you recharge those metaphorical batteries before the Thanksgiving festivities. As I said last week, I’m happy to see the point in life where one of my son’s get to experience an amazing moment in time. My teenager Johnny and his varsity football team is still experiencing some epic wins and this week was not exception. Therefore, this post is about bragging about them
again!! ;P Last night, they absolutely dominated in their win against the Christian Brothers Academy out of Albany, New York. By the end of 4th quarter, the Carmel Rams stomped out the competition with a 51-7 major lead!! The week prior, the varsity football team won their AA division championship. They have another playoff game at Middletown High School on Saturday (11/27) at 6PM. The Carmel Rams are playing against Newburgh Free Academy next week as Middletown High School hosts the next playoff game. This should be another great game! Here is the website of our teams competition:

https://www.newburghschools.org/nfa.php

If the Carmel Rams defeat Newburgh Free Academy the following week after, on December 4, 2021, then they will be the trip up to Syracuse, New York for the state championship! I’m excited for them no matter how far they go. I would like to see them go to Syracuse. They way they have been playing, this is very possible. After all, there is only one game stopping them from the championship. I know that is a journey in the car. Hopefully, they go as far as becoming state champs!! If not, they have had an amazing season at the very least. My son is hyped to play even more sports. He wants to get into wrestling and/or lacrosse. I am happy for my son that he is a part of this amazing experience. There are many kids on the team. The seniors get priority on the field as starters. My son Tom and I were laughing at how Johnny started badgering the line coach to get in the game last week. This past week he was chilling on the sidelines. It was extremely cold when the sun went down. You would never tell that the team was cold when they were enjoying the energy of a team win. More play time next year as a senior will be in his future if he chooses to play next year. Here are some short video clips of the game last night!:

Do you belong to the group who believes that football in high school should no longer exist? Do you believe instead that football is a great thing for students? Feel free to share your thoughts, on either side of the coin, in the comment section down below. As I said before, I believe that football was an important part of my two son’s lives that activates the “beast mode” that is inside of them. The secondary benefit is learning how to work together as a team. Of course there are many more benefits with school sports. I’m happy to see him motivated and ultra excited for future opportunities to play on the field. I thank you for stopping by to read about myself bragging as a proud parent. Short story #8 is entitled, “Surviving The 2008 Recession As A Construction Worker“. If anyone has read any of my other short stories, by all means let me know what you think? It’s now time to unwind and get myself ready for the upcoming week. Try to enjoy your Sunday and final moments of the weekend. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

Just Released Podcast Episode #40: Part B- Most Random Encounters!!

Hello Everyone!

RE-POSTING MY BLOG POST FOR THE RELEASE OF PODCAST EPISODES- #39 AND #40

I hope you are just dealing your Friday in a good way today!? Just make sure to just handle business and then get home safe to kick off your weekend. Yes, I am re-posting this thread since the content still applies to Parts A & B. As shared a million times, I have posted the links to my latest podcast episodes down below. Also as previously mentioned in my other post, Melissa and I have discussed a rather risque podcast topic on one-night stands. In my younger years, this topic is something I would have feared speaking and acting upon. I made it into boot camp right after high school as a virgin. As an innocent and inexperienced young woman, going into boot camp was a wild experience with 87 other women! I felt embarrassed and shy while sitting in a circle with other boot camp cohorts who were sharing their raciest sexual encounters. Sadly, I felt awkward to not have a story to tell! At the time, I was intending on saving myself for marriage. It just so happened that at the time of my very first alcohol encounter at a party, I blacked out and someone took advantage of that rookie mistake. It took me many years to be comfortable with talking about it. It was something that I felt ashamed over and I believed that it was my fault for putting myself in that position. I remember feeling like my whole, “staying a virgin until marriage” plan was ruined. Thinking back, this act impacted me more than I wanted to admit. Once it happened, I definitely became a little more open to exploring random sexual encounters in the military. However, I was still thinking that I would get married. I did get married a year later when I was just shy of turning 19-years old. My bad experiences are a huge reason as to why I am super transparent with my sons and I allow certain benign experiences and open discussions to happen under my roof. I would never want any of my kids to not be equipped to handle new situations. As far as drugs are concerned, I don’t want anything to do with them and that has been established within my family culture to just avoid them. Even with that culture, I find out either months or years later about the experience when either of them share it with me. I have to take their experiences in stride and basically let them know that they are lucky that nothing bad happened from those brushes with a particular drug. As parents, we all get to steer the ship of our family as we see best. I love bullshitting with Melissa and I’m sure that is translated in the podcast episodes when she is my co-host. Now, here is both Part A and Part B on the discussion on Most Random Moments on YouTube:

Verbally Disastrous Presents- Season #1, Episode #39: Part A-Most Random Encounters!! on YouTube:

Verbally Disastrous Presents- Season #1, Episode #40: Part B-Most Random Encounters!! on YouTube:

I believe that these podcast episodes are probably the most daring one I have released to date. I do think that our society should move away from the “Puritan mindset” and stop pushing it on young women. There should be a balance stuck between doing the right thing versus just chasing the devil. As a young woman, this mindset crippled me in more ways than one. The worst part was, I became prey to men in the military since I had a very sheltered upbringing. Additionally, I felt in my younger years, I could not speak about my sexuality and/or experiences with the opposite sex. If I did, I would feel ashamed and dirty. Mind you, I never chose to wear the victim trench coat. Trust and believe that I have experiences that are enough to break your spirit under my belt. I am just merely reporting the news based upon my past experiences and sharing my thoughts. It is no surprise that I am not fond of weakness or crying about problems. It is more wise to look for solutions and power through bad experiences and become a warrior. I believe that there is great value in sharing my experiences with readers. I wish the internet existed with a wealth of guidance when I was a young adult! I own each an every thing I have done in my life. Melissa is even more transparent than I am. For much of my life, although I have gotten my hands dirty in the trenches right with the men, I am aware that there is a difference between men and women when it comes to sexual encounters. It’s a very different story about a young man having random sexual encounters versus a young woman. Young men are expected to have these random encounters. Meanwhile, it is not the same for the young women. That was the sentiment that I had while growing up as a kid in the 1980’s. As a young woman, I would have never had a conversation or felt comfortable enough to have that type of a discussion. I’m glad that, as an older woman, I am able to have that discussion today as an older woman. One-night stands are a rather honest and taboo subject even today. Melissa just tells me to record and let her know later since those private conversations are the best ones and not ones where she knows she’s being recorded. Yes, she is aware that this discussion is being released. Therefore, stay tuned for the Part B podcast episode that is coming very soon! We next plan to discuss our most embarrassing moments when we can get together and speak on it. Over the past 14-years of our friendship, we have had quite a few adventures that yielded some memorable moments. I need to work on the creation of my next podcast episode and short story. I have loaded what I have so far to the podcast platforms and YouTube as promised. I am officially now tired for this evening. Therefore, I’m off to get some rest for the night. Try to enjoy your Friday and enjoy the rest of the work week and upcoming weekend. I wish you a great morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful or productive day!

Advice On A Person Being Addicted To Another & One Night Stand Podcast

Hello Everyone!

How are you managing your Tuesday today!? Whatever your plans are for today, hopefully you handle business and get home safe to your friends and/or family. I have posted the links to my latest podcast episodes down below. I have a rather risque podcast topic coming up on one-night stands. In the past in my younger years, that is something I would have feared speaking on never mind doing. After all, I graduated high school a virgin. Going into boot camp was a wild experience with 87 other women. I remember sitting in a circle after bedtime and everyone was sharing their raciest sexual encounters. Sadly, I felt weird for being one of two virgins in the entire company! I was intending on saving myself for marriage. It’s a rather honest and taboo subject even today. Melissa just tells me to record and let her know later since those private conversations are the best ones and not ones where she knows she’s being recorded. Therefore, stay tuned for that podcast topic that is coming very soon! We plan to discuss our most embarrassing moments when we can get together and speak on it. Over the past 14-years of our friendship, we have had quite a few adventures that yielded some memorable moments. Now, I stumbled upon a requested question that almost seems like the same theme. The topic for this discussion on this post about a person being addicted to another person. I believe that I have had some past experiences where I felt addicted to another person. I have had that addiction in the past that was during both the lust stage and the love stage. It would happen if their love making skills were super on point!! There are some folks who will say that it is best to get into a relationship with someone who is a person where they like you more than you like them. Perhaps this is a preservation mode? You are asking for extreme heartbreak if you continue a relationship when you are the person who holds the relationship in the highest regard. What do you think about this topic? Deep down, everyone knows what lane the are in during a relationship. People can pretend all they want that the feelings are on equal footing. However, you know who is the person more invested in your relationship. I’m just hoping that the person less invested does not resort to taking advantage of their partner. In the event that both parties are in high lust, this relationship can become volatile and a 5-alarm fire waiting to happen in the event there are problems. Then again, those highly charged relationships are the things that film, books, and songs are made to model after. Here is the Quora question and my response below:

POSED QUESTION:

“What does it mean when a guy says “I’m addicted to you”?”

by SxnnySunflowers

MY RESPONSE:

“In my mind, the term, “addicted” is highly charged and mighty in power in my mind when it comes to a relationship. In terms of drugs, it means that a person digs their claws into the drug of choice with every fiber of their being and every aspect. Let’s review the actual textbook definition of the term addicted:

ad·dict·ed

/əˈdiktəd/

adjective

physically and mentally dependent on a particular substance, and unable to stop taking it without incurring adverse effects.”she became addicted to alcohol and diet pills”.
INFORMAL- enthusiastically devoted to a particular thing or activity. “he’s addicted to computers”.

Well, with the definition reviewed, it appears that being addicted to a person is less intense than taking a substance. I agree that different people have different ways of viewing to what degree they perceive that they are addicted to the object, aka the person, of their affection. While one person may have dipped their toes in the water of addiction, another person may be absolutely skinny dipping while turnt up while in the water. I tend to believe that when a person states that they are addicted to another person, they perceive that they have a strong range of emotions and feel like they cannot move forward in life without the other person. This addiction can be extremely intense and may come with conditions. You may find someone perfect until you uncover a flaw. This flaw may be the rip cord to cause a person to withdraw from their addiction on another person. Does that mean that the person with conditions is less addicted? No, I think it’s about perception. Yes, I believe that people can have varying degrees of addiction intensity. This can be for any addiction being focused on. A light or heavy addiction is still an addiction. A person’s true desire to change is what triggers removing themselves from a person and/or substance. I tend to believe that drugs have a stronger emotional, physical, and psychological addiction on a person. Then again, if a person offers the same range of emotions that a drug emits, it’s possible to have the same level of addiction. When you crosses paths with a person who claims you as the object of their addiction, it is wise to exercise caution. This person may be willing to do just about anything to maintain you as their addiction. You have no idea to what degree and depths this will consist of. Don’t play with the person’s emotions and let them down gradually and easy. Don’t offer mixed signals since this can greatly agitate the addicted person to do extreme acts. I wish you much success to exercise great care and caution when you are within the web of a person who claims that they are addicted to you!”

https://www.quora.com/What-does-he-mean-when-he-says-I-m-addicted-to-you/answer/Leslie-Jasper-3?prompt_topic_bio=1

Have you ever dealt with a person who has claimed that they are addicted to you? If so, how did you handle it? I would think that hearing that reveal would be rather creepy and put fear in the heart. I wouldn’t think that this is the least bit romantic. Perhaps there is a fine line between a person heavily pursuing the other party versus chasing an addiction. Any time you allow a person outside yourself to determine your own happiness, that can’t be healthy. While this other person can make you happy for a very long time, the sadness during a breakup can be absolutely Earth shattering. Perhaps an enduring friendship is the best approach in life? Yes, it is ridiculous to think that two people can have a relationship without any sexual attraction. Men are visual creatures. Therefore, a sexual attraction is the door opener. It is best for that to not be the sole theme of your relationship. If you disagree, you are welcomed to explain why in the comment section below. Well, I’m off to work on other tasks for now. Try to enjoy your Tuesday and enjoy the rest of the work week.

Advice On Signs You Hate Your Job!

Hello Everyone!

Hopefully you are having a decent week while back on the grind? Don’t worry, you get to spend next week with family and friends for Thanksgiving! I cannot believe that we’re approaching the holidays already!! I will have my two sons with me on Turkey Day so I’m making a mini feast. Because of Covid-19, we missed breaking bread last Thanksgiving. I wish for you to enjoy the holidays, if you indeed celebrate, with your beloved friends and family. If you celebrate a different holiday this month, let me know. I believe I shared in my blog, from last year, a handful of holidays that are celebrated elsewhere on the globe. Remind me of your holiday since I didn’t retain the information. Getting older sucks. Now let’s talk about my latest piece of advice. This gem is again courtesy of Quora. I found a requested question on Quora that sought my advice. This question is on the topic of the signs that you hate your job. I decided to go down the rabbit hole and respond. Now, I am not really the type to bitch and moan about a job and just stay there. Then again, maybe when I discuss a topic, it is perceived as bitching and moaning. 😛 I would say that I am sharing an experience and giving it a voice. Ideally, I would rather find another job if I was free to do so. However, as a union member, I know that I have to take my assignment and tough out the project until the layoff. Therefore, I get it when you make the best of a shitty project and co-workers. If you do not belong to a union and are free to leave, by all means leave. They say that if you love your job, you are not really working. I disagree with that sentiment since you need to get dressed and leave your warm bed, especially on early cold mornings, and family several hours a day. We should all strive for finding the fun in our jobs. I have absolutely done that on the most miserable jobs. I have danced in a cold, muddy trench with my coworkers in my rubber boots and rain gear while installing rigid and/or PVC conduit. It felt like a mission to make my co-workers laugh and joke with me while doing a miserable job. I’ve been on deck jobs where the wind, rain, and snow where whipping on the upper levels. The wind was at least 20 MPH from the Long Island Sound and it was throwing equipment and material wildly on deck. Despite the exterior conditions, it is just time to focus on the task and get a few laughs out of your partner. Have you made the best out of your rough job environment? Let me know what you think on this topic? What comes to mind when you think about being miserable at work? If you have a different take, I’d love to hear it. Here is the question and my response below.

POSED QUESTION:

“What are some sure signs that someone doesn’t like their job?”

by Devin Swycinsky

MY RESPONSE:

“There are many signs that someone doesn’t like their job. Some are funny meanwhile others are straight depressing! 😛 I’m sure I could go on for days with examples. Here are just some examples of miserable people who keeping showing up to work day after day:

Leslie M. Jasper
  • You show up to work absolutely piss drunk!
  • You bring the booze bottles to work and continue to stay drunk
  • You cringe when you think back to the younger, more naĂŻve you that was so proud when you first started working there
  • You deliberately go extra sloowww when your superior asks you to do something ASAP/STAT
  • You find excuses not to go to any social work events that would require you to spend extra time with your coworkers for FREE
  • You’ve forged great coworker friendships from bonding over your mutual hatred of your boss
  • You’ve perfected that whole ‘looking busy’ thing (point to the ceiling and “look worried” whenever your boss is around)
  • You spend a large portion of your working day searching and applying for other jobs
  • These new job managers reach out to your current manager to discuss your past performance even while you are still working there
  • You bore the tits off everyone in your life with your bitching and moaning about how bad the damn job is!
  • You’ve stopped going for that new potential promotion because you know you’ll be outta there soon enough
  • You don’t “dress for success” anymore at this miserable job
  • You and your equally bitter work-BFF’s have therapeutic group chat discussions 24/7 about all the work drama
  • You’ve become a clichĂ© emotional eater because of the stress of it all and keep your stash in the lower drawers of the desk and office fridge (put skull and cross bones on your fridge stash)
  • You’ve begun to use “FML” in your text conversations more than you use the term “LOL”
  • The fine line between that cheery yet super fake smile and “I-want-to-kill-you” grimace blurs more and more each and every damn day
  • You literally will do the absolute bare minimum of work that is just enough to not get fired
  • You’ve have realized it’s weirdly refreshing, carefree, and liberating to not care at all as to what your boss thinks about your performance anymore”

Let me know your thoughts on my advice if you would take a different approach in the comment section down below. Now my objective of the advice was more so humor than actual practice. If I am miserable at a job, I would work to leave and start elsewhere. If you have some extra thoughts to contribute, let me know that as well. You are highly appreciated for stopping by my post. It is time to go off and work on some other tasks. I have been sharing my (4) latest podcast episodes on over +20 podcast platforms and YouTube. For two episodes, I got my retired high voltage splicer buddy to share some of his crazy career stories out of the manholes he worked in over many years. My two latest podcast episodes are my thoughts and experience from the 2008 Recession. Don’t forget to check out my (8) Kindle Vella short stories on Amazon as well. I even have sketchbooks, journals, dream journals, graphing paper journals, etc. that can be found on Amazon under my name. Now, make sure to have yourself a productive and enjoyable Tuesday. I wish you a fabulous morning/afternoon/evening on your side of the globe and a restful and/or productive day!
