Just Released! *NEWLY EDITED!!!* Episode #19 Part A and Episode #20 Part B- The Joys Of No Children!

Hello Everyone!

I have been trying to fix the bad audio, for the past few weeks, on my latest podcast interview. Melissa and I had special guests Vanessa and Juana. Juana called in from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Meanwhile, Vanessa called in from Las Vegas, Nevada. I have worked with both of the ladies. I introduced them both over the phone to Melissa. I last worked with Vanessa when I was an apprentice and she was a new journeywoman. I figured I would provide some form of anonymity due to the particular subject matter. I was thrilled to speak with both ladies along with my co-host Melissa about the perspective of a woman choosing to not have children. The ladies have the common thread of choosing, at a young age, to not have children. Juana was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I have empathy for Juana since she had to fight the cultural norms for women. I admire her strength and determination to stick by her choice. Vanessa came from a smaller family. Therefore, she didn’t receive as much pushback on the decision. Vanessa’s family endured the challenges of having a family member with lifetime disabilities. This indeed played a huge part in Vanessa’s decision to not have her own children. Melissa and I both come from the other side of the discussion since we both decided to have children. In my early years, I didn’t try to date much due to my obligation as a mother. Despite not even trying, I had a few encounters. We all discuss encounters with men with small children. We all agree that dating a person with small children, meaning below the age of 8-years old, is not a desirable quality. I was personally strapped down for many years. I now get to enjoy my flexibility in the second half of my life. I remember a time when guys at work told me that they don’t like to date women with small kids. I sure as hell wasn’t offended. It is all an individual preference and to respect the choice. Just like I respect the choices made by both Juana and Vanessa. I am sad for anyone who gives others a hard time about their choices. The child rearing life is not for everyone.

I intend to release two short solo podcast episodes by the end of the week. Again, I apologize if you are not thrilled with my audio quality. I do not want to spend much more time and money fixing the problems on episodes #19 & #20. If it wasn’t for the fact that it has great content, I would have scrapped the project. I used an iPad for one call in. I noticed that whenever Vanessa spoke, the microphone picked up a loud AC current. I worked on it quite a bit to wash out the annoying sound. I am not an expert to totally clean it up. I was upset when I first heard the recording when I went to edit. It took me a few days to have the head to try to fix the problem myself. I downloaded Audacity and worked on washing away the annoying sounds that distract from the message. I then looked on Fivrr for a person that can edit my problem since I am not an expert. It took the editor a good amount of time as well. I went ahead and gave the audio editor, contracted on Fivrr, the time to review and see what he can do. I had another editor listen to it and rejected the offer to work on it. It sounds like he slightly enhanced the sound of the callers. Moving forward, I will have everyone use Zoom to call in for future podcast episodes. I have loaded both newly edited podcast Episodes #19 & #20- The Joys Of No Children on all podcast platforms as well as YouTube. Here is the link to Spotify as well as the episodes on YouTube:

Can You Tell Me You Are French Without Telling Me You’re French?

Hello Everyone!

I received a request for me to respond to a question on Quora. I took the request as a way to be sarcastic and poke fun at both the French and Americans from the United States. I often feel like I have serious questions to post. Let’s change it up with a little humor for your Tuesday morning. Here is the question and my quip down below.

POSED QUESTION:

Can you tell me you’re French without telling me you’re French?”

MY RESPONSE:

What is this disgusting thing!? It is a potato that was cooking in a bath of grease! After being cooked, they dip them in either ketchup or some other sauce. The nerve of those Americans to name anything disgusting like that after us!!! 😛

For anyone who hasn’t figured out what I am referring to, I will give a clue. I realize that people from out of the United States read my blog. Therefore, I am not going to be a jerk and leave you in the dark. This food is a favorite past time for lunch and dinners here in the U.S. Somehow, it became a popular dish that is served with burgers in fast food chains around the globe. It is said that this food was created in Belgium and discovered by American soldiers in WW I. In Britain, they are known as chips or finger chips. In Australia, they add chicken salt to them. What!?! They are usually salted and, depending on the country, may be served with ketchupvinegarmayonnaisetomato sauce, or other local specialties. I hope by now you have figured out what they are. If not, there is a Wikipedia link in this paragraph to help you out. If you choose, let me know if you enjoy this item where you are around the globe. I wish you a fabulous Tuesday and the rest of the week!

Cheers!

Do You Get Nervous On A Date?

Hello Everyone,

How many people get nervous when they go on dates? Till this day, I still get nervous when I go on dates. I allow the process of meeting a new person to intimidate me. I wish I knew why that was for me. I saw this question and it reminds me of myself. I am sad for the young person that they fear of being alone forever. A person will only be alone forever if they choose to not put themselves out there. I wish I was more selective when I was younger and bypassed some folks who came my way. However, we learn lessons from all people that we crosses paths with in life. Here is a question and my response on being nervous about dating below.

POSED QUESTION:

I am 24 and get nervous when on dates with women. Not having good conversation leads the women to reject me and not want a second date. How can I improve my conversation skills or am I forever alone?”

Quora Question

MY RESPONSE:

“I used to get extremely nervous on dates when I was your age. Practice, with dating over time, helps to make the nerves go away. Go with the flow at your pace. Treat the lady as a friend. You can start with a friendship and move accordingly. You improve your conversation skills via developing a friendship with an easy going female. If the person is your good fit, it will just flow and come natural. I would not assume your current plight means that you will be alone forever. You just have to put in the work with practice. I wish you luck!”

I hope you had a better day than I did today. I had to bring my friend and her beloved dog to the vet to be put down. She will be dearly missed! I wish you a peaceful relaxing Monday evening wherever you are on the globe. I thank you for checking out my content and have a great day!

Cheers!

A Memorial For Our Beloved Four Legged Friend

Hello Everyone!

I am writing about the passing of one of my 4-legged friends. Dutch and Daisy spent many moments together. Her name is Dutch and she was turning 14-years old next month. My closest friend in the world Melissa lost her best friend today. It was super sad to watch my friend make the decision to have her put down peacefully. Dutch had the usual aging issues with bad hips and having a hard time finding a comfortable place to rest. Dutch started having seizures last week. She was taken to the vet to help her stop the seizures. The medicine didn’t stop the seizures but made them less intense. Dutch was having a few seizures per day. As the weekend progresses, the seizures became more frequent and intense. She was delirious and slamming into walls and very much incoherent. By today, she was walking in a circle repeatedly, consistently foaming at the mouth, and having constant seizures while walking in a circle. This Dutch was far from the lively dog that family and friends know and love. The question was do we go on a journey and subject her to a bunch of tests and trials with medications? We brought her to the vet today and the on call vet suggested trying Dutch on a new medication that could take about 7 weeks to see if it even helps. Will that help her quality of life in the meantime? Given her age, it only prolonged the process and will not restore her to the pre-seizure dog we all know and love.

When you see old videos of her, she was so lively and enjoying life. She always was happy to see me when I come over. My dog Daisy, who is also a senior, would run and hide under the bed while Dutch was in the middle of the seizures. Daisy would sense them prior to them happening to Dutch and go hide. Dutch was rather needy and would bark while looking for Melissa. In the past few days, she stopped doing that. It got to the point where she didn’t know where she was going or who you were. She was literally walking nonstop in circles for over two hours. Her legs were shaking the entire time holding herself up. I tried to pick up the circle of drool within the circle. I have never seen a dog do that in my entire life. I felt emotional seeing her ailing health and knowing my dear friend is going to be an emotional wreck. The decision to put down a beloved dog, who has been a beloved family member for many years, is not an easy one. I remember her when she was young, middle aged, and a senior dog. The dog I saw today was so mentally out of it. I made sure to drive my friend to the vet so that she could hold her for the last time. My dog Daisy is a senior herself. I know this is something that I have to face in the near future. The vet hospital made a beautiful paw print for her with her name to take home. She was able to walk with that memento before we left the vet hospital.

The vet is taking Dutch for cremation so that Melissa can hold onto her. They give the option to let you take the dog home to bury her. She didn’t want to bury the dog in the yard and move some day. We all have to make this choice the day you bring a dog or cat into your home. It was hard to come back to a house that was missing Dutch. It is a hole in the heart that will take time to heal. Melissa is thinking about getting a tattoo of Dutch’s paw in the keepsake. It is a nice memory to have for a lifetime. Dogs are so special to us. They are a member of the family. They love us absolutely unconditionally and offer loads of love. The most loyal love you can ever get is from a dog. If this reminds you of a beloved animal, I am sorry for your loss. The best gift you can give to an animal is to end their pain and suffering. You have to be willing to push past your own feelings of loss. Watching an animal suffer is such a terrible thing to do. Dutch will be greatly missed. Despite the huge loss, I am sure she would have not traded her for anything in the world. Dutch got to travel across the country a few times. Besides New York, Dutch lived in California for a few years then Florida. Every where Melissa went, Dutch was sure to follow and want to be right there. She will always be in her heart and mind. I wanted to write this as a memorial of our beloved 4-legged furry friend. I thank you for stopping by and reading my content. You have many options on your side of the globe. I am grateful for it always. I wish you a peaceful Monday and a good rest of week.

Cheers!

Short Stories To Be Released On Kindle Vella on Amazon

Hello Everyone!

I have decided to try out the Kindle Vella option on Amazon. My Kindle Vella section will be entitled, Construction Tales- Told By A Woman when it goes live after review. The objective is to create short stories, designed for Kindle readers, for purchase on Amazon. I shall try my hand at writing short stories that are 5,000 words or less. I will mention they are available on here if you are interested. If you are interested in the audio version of the short story, I will have it on my Verbally Disastrous Podcast. Ultimately, I would like for people to come to my podcast. For those who like to read, I totally understand that interest. I do like to write so why not get paid to do so. I find writing to be a slower pace in a fast paced lifestyle that is here in New York City. I am able to pull from my creative side, take my time, and write out my thoughts. Here is a screenshot of what the Kindle Vella shelf on Amazon looks like:

As of now, I have submitted three short stories that have been placed here on my blog. Moving forward, my short stories will be available either on Kindle Vella or as an episode on my Verbally Disastrous podcast. Here are the titles of the short stories that are under review:

  1. Thinking Back To When We Used To Booze It Up On The Job
  2. How I Managed My Early Days In Construction As A Woman
  3. Why I Initially Avoided Other Women On The Job

I thank you for your support in advance. Here we are again back at Friday!? So soon yet no one is complaining here. I am merely reporting it just like I would the weather. For anyone who must work the weekends, I am terribly sorry. I am here for your with a few podcast episodes or with my blog posts. You Have many options in this globe that is absolutely filled with foolery and amazing content. I thank you for stopping by, while the boss is not looking, to peep my content. I wish you a Friday that buzzes by and an upcoming post holiday weekend!

Cheers!

Just Released! Episode #19 Part A and Episode #20 Part B- The Joys Of No Children!

Photo represents my frustration with the editing of the podcast episodes this week!

*DISCLAIMER*-The title is sarcasm and geared towards my two guests who explain their choice which is the desire for no children.

Hello Everyone!

I have been trying to fix the bad audio, for the past few days, on my latest podcast interview. Melissa and I both decided to have children. I am looking to enjoy my flexibility in the second half of my life.

I apologize if you are not thrilled with my audio quality. I used an iPad for one call in. I noticed that whenever Vanessa spoke, the microphone picked up a loud AC current. I worked on it quite a bit to wash out the annoying sound. I am not an expert to totally clean it up. I was upset when I first heard the recording when I went to edit. It took me a few days to have the head to figure out the problem. I downloaded Audacity and worked on washing away the annoying sounds that distract from the message. I plan to look on Fivrr for a person that can edit my problem the next time it comes around. It took a tremendous amount of time. It was time I could have spent creating more content. Due to the technical delay, I intend to release a short solo podcast episode or two by the end of the weekend. I am aware that I am behind on releasing content. I also spend the weekend hanging out with my friends and sons out in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania for Memorial Day Weekend. The boys were scheduled to hit a African safari themed indoor waterpark. I learned about it on Mother’s Day so it was too late to plan with others. The rooms are about $1-2K for the weekend. A little more than I wanted to spend on short notice. I had a good time going off the diet so I could eat and drink what I want. It is back on the grind with water and rice cakes this week. I have loaded both podcast Episodes #19 & #20- The Joys Of No Children on all podcast platforms as well as YouTube. Here is the link to Spotify as well as the episodes on YouTube:

Just Released The Latest “Daisy Speaks” YouTube Videos

Verbally Disastrous- on YouTube

Hello Everyone!

I just shared some more “Daisy Speaks” YouTube videos. I goof around and pretend that I am speaking on behalf of what Daisy would be thinking. Daisy is my 9-year old jack russell terrier senior doggy. She is very much a part of the family. I have been trying, in the past year, to help her lose some weight. I didn’t realize that having a gravity dog bowl caused her to overeat. I am sure there are a bunch of health problems from being overweight. Daisy has to see the vet this weekend for another round of shots that she is due for all of them. Daisy will be checking out different locations this weekend. Here are some videos that are available on YouTube. I thank you for subcribing to the Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel!

What Is Your Method Of Conflict Resolution?

Hello Everyone!

I found another interesting question on…drum roll…Quora! This question discusses a different way of communicating in lieu of a face to face argument. In my relationship career, I used to write out my thoughts in a typed letter. I would hand the letter out to the person a few days after writing it. The hardest part of a relationship is figuring out if the person is even capable of properly communicating. You can ask a person how they handle conflict and they can give a stock response. Anyone I have asked have told me that they are a good communicator. You won’t truly know that until the first major conflict occurs and the person is reacting under stress. By that point, it is possible to be already emotionally invested in this person. You may see enough value in the person to overlook how they react in an argument. However, if the person eludes to possibly exercising violence as a result of the argument, I want to bow out. There is zero excuse for a person to put their hands on another person during a heated exchange. Perhaps an indicator of their conflict resolution is through watching a person interact with their children? Then again, the adult holds the power dynamics. Therefore, it is a bad example. How do you figure out a person’s communication style under duress?? Do they shut down, scream, yell, or threaten violence?

I have heard about a man threaten with over the top yelling and screaming and elude to potential violence if the conversation continues. He would elude that he possibly could blow his top and lose control over himself. There are even men who threaten to break off the relationship due to the ongoing argument. Those type of people who do all of the above, forces a person to think of unorthodox methods of communicating. This is why walking away to text or write a letter can help to cool off a heated argument. I imagine a series of texts can be just as annoying as a yapping chihuahua compared to a face to face conversation. Perhaps the letter writing process gives time for both sides to cool off. You can back off an argument and write out how you feel. Even sit on the rough draft for 24-48 hours, then edit what you wrote, and print out your final draft. By this point, you have options. Once written, you can either deliver the letter or not. If you choose to not deliver, you can still set yourself free from the argument. You can burn the letter, bury it, throw in a lake, or throw it in the trash. It is good to get what you feel off your chest and onto paper then release it. I typically hand people the letters that I have written. In hindsight, I believe that I just want to be heard in the aftermath of an argument. Over the years, I have written a phrase on paper and have burned those words to get particular feelings off of my chest. This method can also apply to people who have hurt you in your past and are no longer on Earth. Here is the question and response below on communicating via text during a difficult situation.

POSED QUESTION:

“Why do people prefer to text in difficult situations?”

MY RESPONSE:

“When you text during a difficult and/or intense situation, you are better able to properly and completely convey your thoughts, via putting your words into print. During an intense emotional exchange, the proper words can be masked or lost within the sea of emotions. A good way to be misheard is through a heated exchange. That is terrible since minced words have a deep, lasting impact on a person’s soul. The inability to properly convey a thought can lead to a complete break down in communication that can give an improper translation. The person receiving the rant can lose the full message when their own emotions get in the way. The style of text communication may be, to some, considered as cowardly. Prior to the invent of electronics and the email, the popular mode of communication was the letter via the U.S. mail. Imagine life before email? People may not like written or electronic communication due to losing context in the process of writing and delivery. I believe written communication is a better way to relay both sides when one or more are “hot heads”. To many, texting may be a way of expressing their thoughts without having to put the distractions of deep emotions in the way. The other communicator receiving the conversation, may not normally allow the person texting any room to speak when in close proximity. With this style of delivery, the person texting is able to fully send what is on their mind. The receiver cannot interrupt nor mask the dialogue via engaging in a shouting match laced with intense emotions and obscenities. I also believe that texting and letters are “the receipts” of a very heated discussion. The downside is that you cannot erase “the receipts” after you have cooled down. This is why one must be very cautious about what they say and do. Hold onto a message that was written while angry, don’t send it, review the text when calm, edit it, then release it to the intended recipient. This is the best strategy to use. Words hit very differently the next few days after a heated argument in the cool down period. Also, don’t force a person to speak up when they have initially chosen to keep their anger inside them. They may be trying to hold in words that they know they cannot take back. Instead, ask for a well thought out text, email, or letter so you know where they are coming from. We all process feelings and emotions differently. We all react to stress differently as well. Many of us have had a tough road and bad sets of circumstances along our life paths. Therefore, you cannot use your bad childhood as an excuse for bad adult behavior. Breaking free from poor communication skills that you have learned as a child is tough and requires much mental strength and determination. You must always know that your words have a deep, long lasting impact. When angry, walk away from the source of duress and give yourself time to cool off. Don’t be afraid to use texting, email, or writing a letter as tools to be a mature communicator. If you have never done that before and want a better example for your children, then take steps to change your pattern of behavior. Alternate communication methods are very handy for proper and full communication without diving into a ball of emotions in order to get your point across and be heard. Much hard work yields big rewards! I wish you much luck on your journey in life!”

CONCLUSION:

Well, do you prefer to text a person versus having an in person discussion? I believe that I thought about writing out my thoughts right around the time I started college and writing my book #ConstructionTales. I indeed have a temper, sometimes it is slow to come out, and tend to raise my voice during a discussion. I also used to get tongue tied and would begin to cry and get emotional during a heated exchange. I am quite that many parts of my argument were lost in translation due to being emotional about the topic. I have dealt with men who liked to speak over my voice in an attempt to silence me. In hindsight, that method just made me stubborn and determined to be heard. I learned from my childhood environment how to handle conflict. I admit that it wasn’t the best example to follow. I saw plenty of verbal and physical abuse during my childhood era. Physical abuse was absolutely something that I was NOT taking with me to my own relationships with my sons. I admit that I did drag that style into my early years as a mother. Now that I am older, I am not a fan of using physical force to punish a child. Your children eventually get physically larger than you are when they become teens. I know for a fact that both of my sons are big and strong. Therefore, that physical abuse tactic is not a good habit to use for the duration of their childhood. I find that asking my sons for reflection and accountability is very hard for them. It is much tougher than getting a beating. Finding a partner who is very good at speaking during a conflict is just as important as what he looks like. I have dealt with men, over the years, who had zero communication skills. They would try to shut down the conversation and try to tuck it under the rug. That is until they have a position they want to be heard on. Both sides will want to be heard. If not, those pent up feelings bubble and simmer under the surface. If you don’t get those feelings out, the build up can cause an epic internal explosion.

As an older woman, I have found conflict resolution skills as a super important skillset to possess. Texting or other forms of written communication are good methods to avoid the pitfalls of a heated exchange. You can write out completely what you feel, there is a record of your position, and you can hope that your words were fully read. At the very least, those feelings are translated to words and now on the outside of your body. On the other hand, it is not good that a person has to resort to texting thoughts out of fear of any side effects of a heated exchange. In this regard, the writer is trying to save the other person from the fallout of their own bad behavior. With this in mind, one must really evaluate how often fights occur and if the risk is even worth it? It is wise to remove yourself from any partner that is capable of losing control and inflicting harm on the same people they claim to love and want to protect. Yes, I realize people are not perfect and even the best couples fight on occasion. Hopefully the person asking the question is not resorting to texting in order to avoid getting physically attacked in a fight with the partner. I am a fan of trying to avoid major conflicts and utilizing available tools to aid. I am willing to use any good method available in order to iron out some rough patches that pop up in a relationship.

What do you think about changing the mode of communication during an argument? Have you used that style of communication? If so, did it work out better? Hopefully, arguments are few and far between. Do you have any other clever tricks that work well in conflict resolution? Cohabitating with the opposite gender is not easy. Then you add in kids, -in laws, step parents and kids, mortgage, layoffs, changing homes, funerals, grandchildren, new family members, tax increases, etc. When you think about it, it’s amazing to bring together two genders from different religions, two different childhoods and backgrounds, different socioeconomic places in society. With so many different factors, you mesh two people together and try to get along as best as possible. With all of those factors and more in consideration, couples who last a long time are commendable!! Kudos to the couple who sticks together and goes through many years in life with their ball and chain. 😛 They overcame many obstacles together and found some sense of unity and happiness. As stated before, feel free to leave your thoughts on the subject below. Let me know about your unorthodox yet successful methods of conflict resolution that has worked for your family. I thank you for stopping by my blog and reading my thoughts from your part of the globe. You have many options within the sea of content on the world wide web. How Far Have You Gone With An Obsession!?

Hello Everyone!

I saw this question and it made me scratch and shake my head in disgust. My initial response was deeply sarcastic and was edited the day after reading it. I was going to deliver my response curtly to the mayor of Psychoville. I thought about it and considered, for a moment, that the young lady could be trying to make sense of her super strong emotions. She may need some guidance and is not the wicked, dysfunctional woman that I initially perceived. Nothing is sexier in a relationshp than a partner flashing the bright light into your eyes while they start the interrogation process of 21 questions or more. If you are looking to push a person away, harass them about each and every move in their daily routine. If you want another disastrous relationship, go ahead and ruin it with YOUR trust issues! This whole question screams and smells of dysfunction peppered with toxicity! Despite how this looks, it is highly honorable to recognize a pattern of toxic behavior and seek guiance. I recognize that not everyone in your personal sphere offers the sound advice you seek. Therefore, it make sense to drop the question into the web and see what sticks out as reasonable advice. Here is the question and my response. I have offered the link to the Quora page so that you may read the other responses as they come in. Check it out and leave a comment down below.

POSED QUESTION:

“Why am I so obsessed with someone completely different to what I usually like? I have been so into where he lives and I’m searching up everywhere he has been on Google. Is this normal?”

MY RESPONSE:

“Well, what exactly are you looking for!?! Yes, I do believe that opposites are attracted with each other. Just like how a ‘good girl’ woman is heavily pursued by the ‘bad boy’ man. The bad boy is interested in exploring a relationship with a good woman who has a very low body count. Meanwhile his body count is long and the women are on rotation. The good woman has a set of great qualities that not all women possess. Perhaps the reason for your obsession is that the qualities unlock an interesting part of you inside? Digging deeper, those qualities are a mystery and super enticing so you seek to dive deeper into everything about the other person. This guy has treated you the best that any man has in your entire life. You value this and will go to great lengths to not lose what you found. In order to connect deeper with this fella, you must know more about the man. This deeply compels you to go dumpster diving for as many scraps of data that you can possibly find on the man. I sure hope that you are not disappointed with the person once you learn more about them. People are not perfect including the target of your desire. I would think that a person would absolutely obsess over another soul if they deeply touched your core to the point that it is a rare discovery. Sprinkle in some dynamite sex is absolutely outstanding, that can make a person go crazy!! Amazing sex holds great powers over the satisfied partner alone by itself! If that is the case, you WILL want to know who is your competition. By then, it makes sense that you will attempt to feverishly follow your lover’s Google footprint. You will be sifting through the virtual halls of social media desperately looking for any piece of data, including names and photos of your potential competition, anywhere from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, to LinkedIn. For any guy who knows he has a crazed woman that is obsessed with him, be careful since you never know what lengths the woman will try to sift for information on you.

Yes, I am being dramatic (I can’t help myself) about your Dick Tracy actions on the poor fella. For the record, I am trying to recall if I have ever liked any man enough to do this behavior. Even if I have never been compelled to obsess over a man, I can understand the thought process! I am trying to sift my mental rolodex to see if there was anyone I obsessed over enough to track them down, like a blood hound, over the years. If so, what was the root of my obsession? I would say that any obsession I ever had was due to the fact that I was in love and the person, in hindsight, was reckless with my heart. I was many ways invested any man I was serious about. I have dealt with a man who was very good to me yet dabbled and dropped other women. I dealt with a few ‘other women’ who knew of me and made sure to contact me, via social media. I had given some chances to turn it around. In hindsight, far too many chances before throwing in the towel and walking. I foolishly blamed myself and worked harder to get his attention and spice up the relationship. This was under the premise of being in love and fighting to hold onto the relationship. It briefly became a ‘toxic competition’ with other women since my stubborn ego wanted to hold onto the “#1 spot” in his life. The constant feeling of ‘not being good enough’ crept into my consciousness. The need to get those crumbs of affection from him became an obsession. I finally had enough and turned my emotions off in my mind and permanently pulled away. I share this example to say that I get the strong desire to want to know someone and hold onto what you perceive, at the time, as a gem. You have to ask yourself, deep down in your soul, if it is worth it? A good relationship should flow like water and not be difficult. It shouldn’t change or destroy the person that you are. It shouldn’t wreck your mind or confidence nor give you stress either. You shouldn’t have to fight super hard for it to survive. You should never entertain a relationship that will make you fight for your worth ever.

At the end of the day, you must ask yourself many questions before proceeding further? Are you doing emotional harm to yourself or to him? Is the quest for information that you seek going to put anyone in danger? Are you slowly eroding your self respect in order to get closer to this man? Are you pushing the man away by being up his ass too much? Put yourself in the guy’s shoes? How would you feel if he did the exact same to you? Would you like to be constantly questioned and being forced to answer for everything? Are you willing to be just as transparent as you require? Will this behavior force him to question why he in a relationship? Is it even worth snooping? What is the payout for doing this to him? Now, why can’t you ask him these questions casually in person? Why do you have to go behind his back to seek missing information? Isn’t it better to get to know the man over time as he reveals more about himself? Are you doing this because of a lack of trust in a prior relationship? If you are doing this due to a past relationship, you didn’t give yourself enough time to heal. You should never force a new person to pay for the sins of a past relationship. If you are snooping because of a breach in trust previously, you need to STOP!! Either cut this man loose and put more work into yourself or stop the behavior and get into therapy ASAP. I gave myself two years to heal from a relationship that seeped with trust issues. Each relationship needs to be a clean slate. You can’t have new man pay for the past man. Snooping does NOT help a relationship with trust issues. You only make it even worse. Giving each other access to your phones and internal access to social media accounts is a dumb idea too! You must really ask yourself if your behavior will either make the man be honored or offended by what you are doing? After an honest assessment to the questions, you will be able to figure out if you should move forward with the pursuit of data or not. Now ask yourself, what is the purpose of following behind the guy and reviewing where he has been? Do you have trust issues? Does his story not add up to his electronic footprint? I believe that we are all entitled to a degree of privacy. I do not believe that I need to know everything that my romantic interest is up to every day. I do not think that I should be forced to reveal what I do every second of the day either. Allow for degrees of privacy in a relationship. Being a man’s mother is NOT SEXY!!

I understand that an internet search for arrests is vital for your safety and the safety of your small children. It makes sense for a guy to not want to reveal a past criminal record in the beginning. Hopefully, you are not dragging new men around your children upon first meeting anyway. Tisk tisk! That is a whole other mess of a subject! You may run into a guy with a shitty childhood who had a huge juvenile rap sheet a mile long then turned his life around. Is it fair to dig up the man’s past? Some say that it is not where they were but who they are today that counts. You can dig things up and it can screw up your initial perception of the person. Would you want grace if you screwed up as a young kid? Be careful what you wish for. Once you find something, you cannot go back. If you offend the guy you are dating by snooping or lose HIS trust, you cannot undo that either. You run the risk of being too nosy and pushing the man away. It is not attractive to be badgered by new woman. Always ask if you would like what you are doing to him? Obsessions end up being toxic, unhealthy relationships eventually. I wish you luck if you choose to back off or go full speed ahead!”

I thank you for stopping by my page to peep what I have put together. I just came back from a weekend hanging out with my sons and my friends who reside in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. They live about 90 minutes from New York City. My sons went to a well-known waterpark out in town with friends and family. The weather was rainy all weekend and only sunny today! Therefore, I enjoyed the day and came home late! As I stated in an earlier post over the weekend, I am behind on checking out questions intended for me on Quora. Therefore, I will share the varying content that I respond to when I make a move. Your input on the topic is welcomed down in the comment section. Let me know what you want to add? I hope you enjoyed your family time this weekend while honoring the people who served, past and present, in our armed forces for our country. Wherever you are in the globe, I wish ya a peaceful Monday evening and upcoming week! I shall speak with you all very soon!

Cheers!

What Does It Mean When A Person Asks To Take A Couple Days?

Hello Everyone!

I stumbled upon another question on Quora. Are you surprised!? No, I know you are not-LOL! 😛 Well, buckle up for this messy ride! I did take some time to analyze the question. My knee jerk opinion is that this person is super emotionally charged. So emotionally charged, the other person is concerned for their welfare and safety. If that is the case, it is not a one time hard luck story. That is a deep dive into a constant saga of misery and/or deep emotions. The person is trapped in their head and existing in a constant realm of worst case scenarios. I find people who get worked up to the point where others fear their safety, that can be a form of manipulation. Through their emotions, they get attention and put others on high alert. No one is responsible for the welfare of a person but themselves. Why make it a concern for others? I believe that people thrive off of the attention, gaining sympathy, and getting over financially via a good heart who takes the bait. Why seek attention in an unhealthy way to give concern to others? How did it start? What does the individual gain from causing worry to others? Am I reading too deep into this question? Maybe. Maybe not. It could very well be two souls forcing this union upon each other despite not being a good fit. I tend to not want to welcome a long dragged out sob story each time I see someone. I understand having fear of a worst case scenario or actually enduring an emotionally challenging situation is stressful. I understand that the process of trying to triumph over a bad situation takes a tremendous amount of mental bandwidth. However, others should not feel like they must walk on egg shells around the person where that lasts forever. Nor should others be tasked with babysitting the emotional welfare of another person (unless it is children under 18-years old). It is not good to have others perceive that you will inflict self harm. I perceived, despite working with very limited information, that the writer of the comment is a woman. It has to be a woman!! 😛 I absolutely cannot believe that the writer is a man. In my travels, women are typically the more emotional creatures versus men. I rarely see men as emotional. If a man is emotional, he is a little light in his loaffers and rather feminine (a JOKE!). Wait a minute!! I just envisioned the guys at coffee break, over the years in my career, whining and crying about their lives on the jobsite. Nevermind!! Scratch that!! The writer could be a man, woman, or what they identify in between!

In case you are not aware, I am not a member of the sympathy club. After all, I didn’t grow up with such special treatment. I never attempted to evoke sympathy from my parents. Quite frankly, I would have been left in the dust with my attempted mess as a kid. If anything, I was forced to be tough. I believe that I had no choice. Crying or attempting to gain sympathy would not have worked in my household. Once you learn how to be tough and resilient, it is hard to shake it and become someone else. I was “daddy’s little boy” growing up so I was not house trained to be super feminine. My dad used to tell me that he wanted a son and got a daughter instead. Armed with this inapproprate, extra information, I needed to prove myself that I was capable of doing what boys could do while even better. I was raised to shut up, wipe my tears, and be tough. I didn’t receive sympathy of any kind so it is hard to offer it as an adult. This is especially true if a person is trying to manipulate or not legit with their crisis. I do remember being overwhelmed with tough situations when I was younger. However, I learned the ropes and that everything works out for the best. I have been annoyed at other people who expect me to be something that I am not. Do not expect things from people just because you do it. Them not behaving like you does not mean that they don’t care. They were raised differently and have different experiences. If someone tells me a sob story, I tend to try to come up with a solution. I offer words of encouragement, via a way to get out of the problem with sacrafice and as quickly as possible. I do not pack on a bunch of sympathy. It would be inauthentic for me to do that. I do not contantly badger them wanting an update on the saga either. I find tough issues as touchy and not something I should badger another person to share further. If they want to provide an update, I will listen. I just don’t encourage people to sits around and constantly cry and whine about their life. I want my friends to slap me hard if I fall into some zombie trap where I always discuss my bullshit. What can I say, I was raised by wolves (shrugs shoulders). I am blessed that my female friends are some good kick ass women who figure out their problems with solutions. Any one of my lady friends power through life and have many achievements. I am proud of each and every one of them! If there is something bad going on, they don’t sit and stay in any sadness. If knocked on the ground, they dust themselves off and get back up to fight. Armed with a solution, they work to get out and come back stronger than ever. I do not have to keep in constant communication either. We can go a few months or even years without speaking and it can be like we never had a gap. I love my lady friends who are not needy with our friendship. Well, now that I have alientated just about everyone from telling me their problems, here is the question below and my response. I am providing the link below to the thread so you can check out the other answers to the question.

POSED QUESTION:

“What does it mean when he says let’s take a couple days because he is worried about me?”

MY RESPONSE:

“Well, I am missing some more details on this question. Therefore, I will try the best that I can to take a stab at it. When a person is saying, “let’s take a couple of days” that means they want a mutual break. When it is followed by being “worried about me”, it appears to be your issue and not his issue. He is worried about your safety. Perhaps the person believes that you have exceeded your threshold of conflict. He wants to give you some time to decompress, breathe, and re-think. The wise thing to do is to give some space to him and to yourself. Be kind to yourself, whatever is the problem, and work to come up with a compromise and a solution. You must know that life is full of ups and downs. It is not always a joyous occasion. You will have arguments and have to figure out how to get out of bad situations. There is always some form of a solution. As you get older, you learn to loosen up on the small things. You make firm decisions on the big things to cross you path. If two people are repeatedly toxic towards each other and there is no resolution, it is most healthy to cut ties. Your life path offers more than one connection. You are supposed to learn lessons and overcome them. Perhaps you are supposed to just learn a lesson then move on. I know it doesn’t feel like that right now. Only you know the dynamics and what you should do. You know if you should dial it back and apologize, re-think the situation, lay low until he apologizes, relax then come back to the table and negotiate, or cut your losses and walk away. No matter the situation, this is not the end of your story. Just know that. The sun always shines after the rain. I sincerely wish you luck on making the wisest decision”.
