I hope you are holding out well this work week. Hopefully, the weather is decent on your side of the globe today? I spent the weekend socializing with some friends and family over the weekend. I celebrated my friend’s birthday at City Island. I met up with friends and family at Fogo de Chao to break bread and socialize at the Brazilian Steakhouse. I had a rather interesting Saturday night that I will discuss on my podcast with Melissa. Sunday was a chill day. How was your weekend? I just released my latest podcast Episode #28: The Pregnant Construction Chick!? last week. I shall share the link for the video on my Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel down below. Let me know in the comment section how do you handle, as a man, dealing with cues from a woman who is not that interested in you? Here is a question where a person asked me for the “11 signs she doesn’t like you”. This is another question that I don’t view as a troll question. It is good for young men to pick up on the subtle cues and dial back their energy that is being wasted on a woman who is not interested. If a man doesn’t do anything wrong, it is hard to reject a man that you are not interested in. Therefore, instead of being straight forward, it feels kinder to dial back the energy and even ghost. Hell, I am in the whole dating thing at the moment myself. I have had people drift in and out of the situation. I have done the same ghosting if I feel like it is not a match and I would be just wasting his time. I even had to cancel a planned date this weekend after a guy told me that I was basically going to meet up with him and we were going to make out and go straight to sex. Some men can be such animals!! He even started going into a tirade after facing rejection so I blocked him. Well, enough of my dating tales. Let’s check out my list of red flags for young men to see and back down. Stop wasting time and money on a woman who is not interested in you. Yes, it is a process to find the great match. It is not easy but we have to keep trying. It is really good to have these types of forums so that we may offer guidance to young people. Here is the posed question and my response below.
POSED QUESTION:
Original Question: “What are 11 signs she doesn’t like you?”
“How do you know if someone doesn’t like you?”
Yellow Guy
MY RESPONSE:
“Well, I am sure that there are a million clues to indicate that a woman is just not into you. She may be trying to avoid blatantly rejecting you and trying to softly reject you. Here is my list of 11 signs where a woman doesn’t like you:
She doesn’t respond within a reasonable timeframe to your texts-say more than 24 hours repeatedly (unless she tells you she cannot be on the phone)
She only responds when you respond to her first
She tells you that she has a boyfriend even if is not true
She swiftly tries to put you in the friend zone
A woman will let you know about all of her bad qualities in an effort to get you to no longer be interested in her
She shows up to a date in sweat pants and no make-up repeatedly when you know she is usually very dressed up normally
She doesn’t like to make eye contact with you and her body language is guarded-arms folded and feet pointed away from you
She doesn’t like to be touched nor does she try to touch you
She starts giving you one word responses
She flakes out on plans at the last minute repeatedly
She is allowing other guys to flirt with her and even go on dates
Most women, if you didn’t do anything wrong, they are not looking to hurt your feelings. We are hoping that you take the cues and back away. I hope you use my advice and move accordingly. I hope you find the right woman of your dreams when you are ready!”

I hope you are doing exactly what you want to do this weekend. Hopefully, the weather is decent on your side of the globe today? Yesterday afternoon, I met up with my friends to celebrate a birthday with lunch. I opted to have some clam chowder and some clam balls. I tried to eat light since I was going to the Brazilian restaurant later. Later on that night, I met up friends and family at Fogo de Chao to break bread and socialize at the Brazilian Steakhouse. I enjoyed watching everyone feast like crazy and tell funny stories. I was insanely full when I walked out of there!! I had some delicious thres leches cake and expresso for dessert. I have to fast for the rest of the damn weekend to offset the Saturday night feast. I got to connect with my buddies (they’re like brothers to me) that I worked with for years and had not seen in awhile prior to our dinner date. It was great to meet up with them! I just released my latest podcast Episode #28: The Pregnant Construction Chick!? this past week. I shall share the link for the video on my Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel down below. Let me know in the comment section how do you handle conflict? Now, here is a question, that I believe came from a person who believes that another person is being walked on. The guy responded with a smirk. Yes, it has some similarities to the previous Quora question about using a smirk.
It is possible that the guy she is referencing is being walked on by another person. However, that guy needs to be free to make his own choices. I don’t believe that this was a troll question. What do you think about other people trying to intervene in another person’s relationship? At what point would an intervention be merited? I personally believe that intervention should only happen if a person is being physically abused or an underage minor being poorly treated. Other than those situations, they are big enough to handle themselves. It is just best to stand on the sidelines and offer advice only when asked. I know the writer is very concerned for the welfare of the guy friend. The relationship needs to be explored until either party has had enough and wants to end the situation. It is their risk and reward to seize and endure. I also believe that we gain much experience from navigating through these relationships. Despite the challenges, we learn what we like and do not like in another person. Our friends, with good intentions, can taint a great relationship, cause chaos, and cause a premature decline in a relationship. I believe the energy wasted on someone else’s relationship can be saved to go towards the person’s own life. As I have said a bunch of times, it is good to have these types of forums to kick the tires with other people on these types of questions. Here is the posed question and my response below.
POSED QUESTION:
“Why would this person smirk after I told him to not let anyone walk all over him, does he take care of it, was it all a game?”
Intergalactic Witch
MY RESPONSE:
“A smirk is a playful, passive aggressive approach to dealing with feedback from others. I believe the smirk is his way of saying he knows what he is doing. Here is the definition of passive aggressive, in reference to his smirk, in case you are not aware of the definition:
passive aggressive (adjective)-
1. of or denoting a type of behavior or personality characterized by indirect resistance to the demands of others and an avoidance of direct confrontation, as in procrastinating, pouting, or misplacing important materials.
Perhaps in his mind, he is not being walked over and is in control of the situation. He believes that he is taking care of it in his way. It is not a game to him in his way of handling his situation. He is aware that you are concerned and letting you know in his way that he is taking care of it. He is also aware that you are watching the other side and available as a support system for when he has had enough and pushes the eject button. Just support him as a friend/relative and allow him to make his own choices. If she/he ends up walking all over him, all you need to do is be there for him. It is his risk alone that he is taking. We all develop experience from making mistakes. I wish him luck with his choices and you luck with being the silent supporter.”

I hope you made it safely through your work week with as little stress as possible? It is Friday!!!!! Now you get to spend the weekend exactly as you wish with your friends and family. Hopefully, the weather is decent on your side of the globe today? I walked ten miles last night and some big miles on other nights of the week. This afternoon, I am meeting up with my friends to celebrate a birthday with lunch. Some other friends and family are going out tonight to break bread and socialize at a Brazilian restaurant. I look forward to watching everyone feast like crazy and tell funny stories. I get to connect with some guys (they’re like brothers to me) that I worked with for years and have not seen in awhile. I shall share the link for the video on my Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel down below. Let me know in the comment section how do you handle conflict? Here is a question, that I believe came from a person who assumed that I would have chosen violence. It is possible that they genuinely didn’t know how to handle a situation like that? I have to assume that this wasn’t a troll question. What do you think the reason was for posing the question? Would you choose to ask the person why they were smirking? I personally like to avoid choosing violence unless my back is against the wall or my boys are in danger. Yes, they are big enough to handle themselves. Perhaps people think that those who live in New York City are always looking for a fight? I believe negative energy breeds more negative energy. It is just best to walk away from foolery or anyone trying to lure you into any form of angry exchanges. It is good to have these types of forums to kick the tires with other people on these types of questions. Here is the posed question and my response below.
POSED QUESTION:
“What do you do when someone smirks at you?”
Aayush Mahera
MY RESPONSE:
“You do nothing, it is time to walk away. Why feed into that behavior? If the person was trying to lure you, with their smirk, to bad behavior, then they won. They used your emotions to control you. Let that sink in. Responding to a smirk speaks more about you than them. I wish you much luck!”

I hope you made it safely through your work week with as little stress as possible? Now you get to spend the weekend exactly as you wish with your friends and family. Hopefully, the weather is decent on your side of the globe this weekend? I came in from walking ten miles tonight. My friends and family are going out tomorrow night to break bread and socialize at a Brazilian restaurant. I look forward to watching everyone feast like crazy and tell funny stories. I get to connect with some guys (they’re like brothers to me) that I worked with for years and have not seen in awhile. I look forward to meeting up with them! I just released my latest podcast Episode #28: The Pregnant Construction Chick!? last night. I shall share the link for the video on my Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel down below. Let me know in the comment section what interesting things you are into recently? Here is a question, that I was requested to respond, on Quora about things that you should know before revealing that you like that person. What do you think a person should know? Do you think I am jumping the gun on the requirements list? If not, am I missing an item? Do you even know the root of the reason for hesitation? I figure the person asking the question is a relatively young person. It is good to have these types of forums to kick the tires with other people on these types of questions. I wish that I had far more requirements before going down the rabbit hole of a relationship when I was younger. We can’t change the past. We can only share our experiences with the younger generation coming up. They either choose to take the advice or be willing to make their own choices and endure the consequences of mistakes that come. Then again, having a huge requirements list will keep a person single to the point where they start investing in a cat farm. Yes, there must be a balance to where you ask the right questions yet not totally invade and cross another person’s boundaries. That’s especially invasive in the very beginning. Here is the posed question and my response below.
POSED QUESTION:
“What should I know about someone before I tell them I like them?”
-Cameron Iacobucci
MY RESPONSE:
“You should know a decent amount about a person before revealing that you like them. Each level is a progression to your end goal. What is your end goal? Are you just looking for friends with benefits? If so, then just speak up. If you are looking for a long-term relationship or marriage, then you want to have a few basics down before going deeper into a rabbit hole with the other person. Why get wrapped up in a person if you are not ultimately compatible? People have one set of expectations and they evolve over time. Not doing your homework ahead of time can lead to heart break for both parties down the road. The first basic stage is finding a person physically attractive. Then love is on another level. Marriage or a long-term companion is an even higher level. You should know if you are both compatible with the following:
common interests such as hobbies, music, etc.
2. a party goer vs a home body
3. desire to have children in the future
4. any issues with religion if not the same
5. the relationship goals of each person
6. the dynamics of each family member nearby
7. short and long term dreams and goals
8. desired geographic location to settle down
9. the family dynamics upon first having a child
10.the type of spender/saver each party is
11.which person wants to keep up with the Jones vs frugal?
12.the type of career a person plans to have
I believe that you should pay attention to these basic qualities along with your personal goals in the very beginning. You can avoid falling in love with someone that was incompatible from the minute you opted to let them know that they like you or they shared that they liked you. It is never to soon to think about the future. I wish you luck on finding the right fit for you!”

I just worked to release my latest podcast Episode #28: The Pregnant Construction Chick!? onto YouTube and the podcast platform of your choice! I am also releasing this short story for my Kindle Vella Library that is entitled: Construction Tales-Told By A Woman. I will have (6) short stories released for Kindle Vella on Amazon. I figure I will need (15) short stories before I can release the next book of the #ConstructionTales series. In this latest short story and podcast episode, I talk about my decision to have another child before my 30th birthday back in 2005. Therefore, I stopped my birth control back in early 2004 and became pregnant a few months later. All I needed was a little Hawaiian Island vacation time for it to happen. I discuss how hard it was to get through my pregnancy when I had toxemia. My pregnancy journey at work was real rough as the winter progressed when I was forced to work outside. I had an opportunity to work inside and the general foreman was a complete asshole!! He will get a dose of his own karma for the shit he tried to do to me. I offered the details in this latest podcast episode and as a short story for Kindle.

Episode #25: My Brook Reading Podcast Review on YouTube
Hello Everyone!
I stumbled upon another podcast that I decided to check out from my weekly rounds of meeting both new authors and podcasters on Twitter. I crossed paths with Melissa Sak from the Brook Reading Podcast on Twitter. We opted to check each other’s work out. I discovered that Melissa is an author of the book entitled, “Turning Point” by Melissa Sak. Turning Point can be found on Amazon in both e-book and paperback formats. I checked out a few Brook Reading Podcast episodes while out on my walk and/or multi-tasking. The first podcast I checked out was on the vices of the presidents from the United States of America. I love to hear salacious details on public figures. It makes them more relatable to us mere mortals. I then checked out the episode on Bust Magazine featuring legendary rocker Courtney Love as well as other leading figures in entertainment. I had never previously heard of the term “shebonics” prior to peeping this episode. I am tickled to hear other terms in entertainment such as “the flaming lips”. I don’t really know what it is about but it must be sassy! I didn’t know that this magazine existed and the fact that Bust magazine just celebrated a 20-year anniversary. Another interesting fact is that Courtney Love is working on releasing an autobiography. As a person who loves double entendre, I appreciated that Bust Magazine is about women get issues and topics off their chest. I am also sharing the podcast website down below as well as screenshots of the episodes that I peeped for the past few days:

I don’t think I can say enough how honored I am for Melissa to check out and share my teen version of my #ConstructionTales book, Kindle Vella short stories, and my Verbally Disastrous podcast!! It was a delight to hear Melissa share my creative projects on the A Brief History of Women-Volume I episode! I am super blessed to have crossed paths with Melissa. We would like to get to know Melissa a little bit more, right? I have some questions down below for Melissa so that the readers can get to know her as well as the podcast. When she sends me her responses, I shall come back and update the post. I look forward to checking out more on her new series on the History of Women as they are released. It is fitting to share my slideshow, on my Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel, where I showcased some awesome kick ass ladies who were pioneers in many fields. I created this YouTube slideshow in honor of Women’s History Month. Perhaps the early women I showcase can be a part of the Brook Reading Podcast new series on the history of women? I encourage women and men who like my slideshow to share freely and give my Verbally Disastrous YouTube channel credit. Here is the slideshow on YouTube:

My Questions For The Brook Reading Podcast:
1.) Where in the hell did you get the name of your podcast? 2.) How long does it take for you to create your episodes? 3.) How are you able to mentor young girls? 4.) Where do you get your inspiration for your podcast episodes? 5.) What is the inspiration for your podcast cover photo? 6.) How do all of the hosts and co-hosts (if applicable) know each other? 7.) Name 3 key lessons, you have learned the hard way, while creating your podcast episodes? 8.) Name 3 screw-ups you had either prior to launching or while creating your podcast? 9.) Are you on Apple Podcasts? If so, share your link. 10) Share any other names and links where you can also be discovered. 11) What is the concept of the next book you plan to write? 12) What is the name of your YouTube channel? 13) What is the ultimate goal of your podcast? 14) What does your friends and family members think about the podcast? 15) Who is your audience and where in the world are the majority of them from?
*EDITED* BROOK READING PODCAST RESPONSES!!
1.) Where in the hell did you get the name of your podcast?
“Haha. I get asked that a lot! I live at the end of a street where the closest thing to my building is a brook. When I thought of the show, I knew I wanted the title to have something along the lines of book reading, because, well, that’s what I would be doing. Then, I remembered the brook, and I thought it’d be cute to call it Brook Reading. :)”
2.) How long does it take for you to create your episodes?
“It’s different all the time, but usually if a book is about 200 – 300 pages, I can read it in a week and as I read, I take notes. I then type up my script (probably about an hour or so), and then record and edit. If the book is longer, or if I know I’m going to watch the movie version as well, I will usually do a two-part episode. (For example, I covered Stephen King’s “IT” and that was 4 episodes! Cause, ya know, 1100 pages). When I do different types of episodes, depending on how much research, it could take me longer, which is why I will create series, or do in-between “Housekeeping” episodes where I can just talk and update my listeners on what’s going on”.
3.) How are you able to mentor young girls?
“This is a great question. One way is that, when I do have opportunities to talk to young women, either my students, or kids of my friends’, etc., I speak to them as honestly as I do on my show. I am a huge proponent of individuality, independence, and intelligence. And I try to model that within my own life. I hope I am a good inspiration to women, and thankfully, I have been told that women think differently, and more positively, about feminism and female strength after knowing me. :)”
4.) Where do you get your inspiration for your podcast episodes?
“I started out by making a list of books I definitely wanted to cover, my personal favorites. I then started “The Jar of Possibilities”, where I was taking recommendations from listeners or friends. As I’ve started to grow the show, I still try to keep it tied to the literary world, but I have branched out to history, feminism, theatre, etc. I’ve even covered bullet journaling, and we’ve recently put out a radio play of William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.”
5.) What is the inspiration for your podcast cover photo?
“I originally found the art online, I wanted a house next to a body of water (obviously). But most recently, the creator of the network I am in took my icon and jazzed it up a bit, which came out amazing, and he took the greenery art from the cover of my book and put it in the background! I love it so much, because it incorporates all of my things. :)”
6.) How do all of the hosts and co-hosts (if applicable) know each other?
“Typically, I am a single host show. When I DO have co-hosts, which definitely happen for special books or events, it’s usually my best friend, Alison, my other close pals, Vic, Drew (from the Reel Feels Podcast), or other podcasting pals of mine. Even my girlfriend, Shera, my sister, Heather, and my parents have been featured on episodes!”
7.) Name 3 key lessons, you have learned the hard way, while creating your podcast episodes?
1. Don’t procrastinate! The episodes where I have procrastinated sound the worst to me.
2. I never thought that I could teach myself a skill like this. I taught myself so many different technical skills, and I’m really proud of myself.
3. I always need to create. If I’m not writing my own work, I’m working on the show, and I need it. It’s so important to me to have an outlet like this.
8.) Name 3 screw-ups you had either prior to launching or while creating your podcast?
1. Ugh! The first like 20 episodes! I didn’t know how to edit very well and the background noise, as well as all of my “umms” and “ahhs”, drive me crazy when I listen back!
2. It’s not necessarily a screw up, but I wish I had the wherewithal to create the youtube channel in the beginning along with the show. I’m trying to figure out how to merge them now and it’s difficult.
3. I can’t think of a 3rd! 🙂
9.) Are you on Apple Podcasts? If so, share your link.
11) What is the concept of the next book you plan to write?
“I’ve been working on a horror novel for YEARS! I would love to actually finish it! And, I’ve been thinking of working on a collection of stories by teachers. I have some notes and questions, and a list of people I’d like to interview, I just have to get off my feet!”
12) What is the name of your YouTube channel?
“I don’t officially have it yet, but it will be Brook Reading.I like everything to be cohesive.”
13) What is the ultimate goal of your podcast?
“I really want to reinvigorate conversations about literature. I can’t wait to grow my audience further, and I’ve been trying my hardest to do that. I am in talks right now with a couple of AMAZING women to start a network where all of our content is basically seen through our feminist lens, but will cover so many different topics (music, movies, books, family life, etc.)”
14) What does your friends and family members think about the podcast?
“Most people think it’s great! My family and friends are super supportive. My mom didn’t know what it was at first, but when we played her an episode, she was very proud. :)”
15) Who is your audience and where in the world are the majority of them from?
“I wish I knew! Haha! I think it’s mainly the U.S. and Canada, but I know I’ve got some listeners from the U.K. as well! Trust me, I would love to know more about my listeners and not just statistics, who they are and what brought them to the show”.

MY REVIEW:
I appreciated listening to her content as a new “brookworm”. I just checked out where Melissa is from and she is from Scotch Plains, New Jersey. She is literally only 44-miles away from me here in New York City! I may have to get my co-host Melissa P. and schedule a road trip where we sit down and do a collaboration together in person. The older I get, the more I appreciate rubbing elbows with fellow strong women. Not a woman with a big mouth who barks a lot trying to control people and get her way. I can usually see behind that façade of bullshit and I don’t respect it. I vibe well with women who are honest, fair, hard-working, not looking to scheme a man, and enjoying their best life in an upbeat, positive manner. Any woman who claims they are independent can’t have their hands in the pocket of a man. I appreciate strong women who are about handling their own business, not afraid to speak honestly on their observations, confident enough to lift other women up, and serve as a mentor for young girls growing up and trying to find their voice. This is the impression that I get from Melissa’s work and I like it. She has a soothing yet firm voice that is professional laced with some honest observations and a lil potty mouth edge. I shared with her that I appreciated her take on Thomas Jefferson who was our 3rd U.S. president from 1801 to 1809. I howled when I heard she said, “I didn’t know that Jefferson was a basic bitch, but apparently he was”. Melissa was referring to Thomas Jefferson’s preferred drink was a white wine spritzer. I do find it humorous that one of the early leaders of the free world is a wine spritzer kind of guy. I envision our founding fathers having a wad of chewing tobacco in their mouths while sipping vodka at room temperature right out the bottle like a Viking! I am a huge fan of the little odd facts about public figures. I am encouraging Melissa to venture on and find more of that content for future episodes and tag me on Twitter so I can peep it.
Based upon her content, I gather that Melissa is a modern-day feminist. She offers her view of the world within that light and not afraid to take a stand on a few issues. She encourages other women to shine and is very confident with that delivery. I can’t say it enough. I truly appreciate her taking the time to review my work and share it with her audience. She even promoted it in her podcast! I have attempted to cross promote and collaborate with other women in the past. It was hinted that they feared my work would overshadow their project. Meanwhile, we each had a great opportunity to share our work in different arenas. I have the construction background so I have had limited engagements with women. For many years, I had preferred men to women since many are confident and have an abundance mindset. To find that same mindset in a woman is truly a treasure! I have since found some kick ass women, in a variety of different arenas, that have evolved my viewpoints. Melissa is so giving with sharing the works of other authors and podcasters, I struggled to find her own book!! This gives such insight to her as a person. I found her book that is entitled, “Turning Point” and is on Amazon in both e-book and paperback. I actually just added the book to my Amazon cart since the description sounds interesting. This book is on two women who cross paths and go on an adventure together and encounter dangerous obstacles. I enjoy reading but I just fill my days with loads of work and stuff. I will have to carve out time and make myself read at night since it is peaceful. I will give an overview and ask Melissa a variety of questions and post about it. If you have already read the book, let me know? I totally value a podcaster who shares the history of strong women throughout time. I find it important since knowledge is power.
I remember hearing a well-known YouTuber say to a woman caller, while on his show, that men create everything in society. He claimed that women do not contribute to society, they just enjoy the benefits. He then challenged the woman further, “name some women contributors to society?” Sadly, the woman was silent on the topic. I know that there are many strong women who have contributed to our society. We were just not taught the names in society. Hopefully, women such as Melissa, can work to fill in the blanks of those types of conversations. There are many of us women who chose a construction trade as our profession. I am tapped into an entire network of women who belong to any trade imaginable on the internet. These women do exist in the world as both past and present. Their contributions are just not showcased with the magnitude like their male counterparts. Therefore, I find the work of The Brook Reading Podcast to be very valuable for men and women now and the people who have yet to be born. The same well-known YouTube personality bitched that there are not enough women who work in building America. There are many reasons why the construction industry only contains 6% of women within the work force. It’s not easy being in this trade dealing with politics and the bullshit of some men. I am used to the dudes who run their mouths. I learned to offer sharp retorts to shut their asses down. However, as an outsider coming in, that is an unpleasant reality and it can be intimidating as hell! It is super hard to carry a baby while working with the tools. I’m now dropping a hint that the topic of “being pregnant while working with the tools” will be my next podcast episode. The hardest thing I ever did in my life was work outside climbing extension ladders while I was over 30 weeks pregnant. Perhaps more women will be inclined to join the industry when more of the old broads, such as myself, serve as a mentor and encourage them to come in. As I say it again, I wholeheartedly believe that Melissa’s work of offering her audience an education is very valuable. The Brook Reading Podcast is very generous and selfless with time offered to sharing the work of others. Melissa deserves to have her work shared on the platforms of other podcasters as well. I hope you are pleased to discover Melissa Sak for the first time as well. If you are a listener of the Brook Reading Podcast and you are stopping by my work for the first time, I thank you kindly for coming by. Perhaps I will cross paths with you again.
I thank you for stopping by and checking out the creative project that is the Brook Reading podcast! If anyone has another question that I have not posed, feel free to drop it down below in my comment section or find me under my name on various social media platforms. I am giving a shout out to the fellow kick ass hard-working women and the cool hard-working men who listen to our work! You are all very much appreciated. Yes, I am sharing the link below to my Kindle Vella short stories library that can be found on Amazon. I am trying to get the word out so ya gotta just deal with it. 😛 In all seriousness, I absolutely could not accomplish what I do without regular support from my listeners and readers from around the globe. I am giving another shout out to the listeners from Ireland and the United Kingdom. I also need to recognize the people of India and Romania who read my blog week after week! I see you all too (giving an air hug)!!! You are all amazing that you keep coming here to read my work week after week! Thanks so much for stopping by my side of the world today. You have chosen me within a sea of many options. For that, I am honored. I truly appreciate anyone who dedicates their time to peeping my various creative projects week after week. As I’ve stated so eloquently before, I appreciate your feedback, comments, and suggestions to improve my content. I wish you a peaceful evening, afternoon, or morning, depending on your time zone and part of the world. It is my hope that I brighten your day with my old job tales and detailed observations from back when I worked with the tools. I shall be back soon enough. Therefore, have a fabulous Monday afternoon. It is time to get through the work week however you do when your family depends on you. Try to keep cool and safe this week people! Peace out, Cub Scout!

I recently connected with the Don Lulu Twitter account and we mutually agreed to subscribe to each other’s YouTube and Twitter accounts. I mentioned that I have my (4) blogs, (1) audio version of the written blog, and my (1) Verbally Disastrous Podcast. I agreed to do this review. In my last podcast episode, I shouted out a few fellow podcasters that are also connected on Twitter. I recently created an audio file, posing as Mrs. Cannatuna complaining about some bad meat. I submitted it to the Piggly Dogg Podcast for a future episode. That episode is coming very soon. I shall share the episode as soon as I have been made aware of the episode’s release. It appears that the Don Lulu trio are relatively new with their launch of their YouTube platform. I counted 10 videos. Of the 10 videos, I opted to check out two videos where the group got together and discuss some hot topics. Here are the titles of the two videos I checked out, the description that was posted on the group’s YouTube channel (link up above), and the names of the podcasters on the YouTube channel.
First Video: “Heated debate about treating your child better than your step child, & your wife wanting an onlyfans”
Second Video: “Callin’ Shotz live on IG speaking about open marriage, girl on girl relationships & more.”
Don Lulu Presents Callin’ Shotz YouTube Description:
“Callin’ Sh🎱tz is a web series, hosted by Don LuLu, where he will be conducting interviews with special guests that are trying to break into the entertainment industry. We will have regular conversations discussing their work, what they have up & coming, & also their life story over a game of pool, game of cards, or video game (whichever they prefer). Also, we’ll have a live chef co host, Anthony Blair, where he’ll be preparing meals & discussing fashion tips. Based out of Alabama, Don LuLu created a web series/podcast called HalfBreedTv that focused on talent around the state of Alabama that was getting overlooked. Now, it has expanded to different states focusing on talent all around the country that feels like their talent is getting overlooked. Callin’ Sh🎱tz is the sequel of HalfBreedTv. You can follow him on Instagram @donlulu & our business page @callinshotz . Hope you guys enjoy & feel free to spread the word on who you think should be the next guest on Callin’ Sh🎱tz”.
The stars of the Don Lulu Presents Callin’ Shotz team:
1.) Don Lulu 2.) Badd Taz (the lady) 3.) Chef Chuggs
MY REVIEW:
Firstly, I must admit I had to focus in order to get past the southern accent. I had the volume up at the highest and struggled to pick up some phrases since they tend to speak fast at times. Over time, I got used to their accents. I gather, based upon the YouTube channel description, that the group is based out of Alabama. My other observation that, compared to the other teammates on the Zoom call, Chef Chuggs sound was very low. This was even more so true when he backed away from the screen. Either he needs to be aware to speak up, ensure that his volume is at max capacity, or invest in a microphone. The best investment on his end is a great microphone. Their intro was very professional. The screenshots of their intro, with all of them together, look really good. As a viewer, I got to quickly learn who the main players are of the podcast. The subtitles in the introduction helped me with this process. I really wish there were subtitles throughout the entire episode. I actually go through the process and put up subtitles on my YouTube videos to help with my international audience. I cannot assume that all of the audiences I wish to tap into can 100% effectively understand my message or my co-hosts. Everyone in their own screens are well dressed, looking very good, and with fun energy. I wish someone would have introduced the gentleman that came in the first video at 19:48 minutes in the video. However, I stand corrected that Chef Chuggs introduced Sean Robinson at 28:50 minutes into the video. I believe he should have been introduced immediately. This is my dose of constructive criticism based upon some of my struggles while listening to your content. I like Don Lulu’s energy bursts on the podcast. Chef Chuggs has that cool vibe and Badd Taz also has a chill vibe. I feel like I broke into a group of friend’s Zoom call and overhearing them just shooting the shit as if it is a private conversation. It didn’t sound forced or fake at all.
It is very clear that each person likes and respects each other. They let each other speak and work well with the cadence of all three speaking without talking over each other. Every once in awhile, you hear a little talking over each other since no podcast is perfect. The transitions from the intro where they chit chat to the topic was very quick. Each person holds a different position on the topic of dealing with another person’s kids. They go further down the rabbit hole with how a person treat’s their own kid vs the step kid. Chef Chuggs holds a very blunt position with stating he is going to like and treat his own seed better than the step kid. I value his honesty with how he approaches it. Badd Taz knows how she is so she shared that she tries to avoid dating people, men or women, who come to the relationship with kids already. I am riding with Don Lulu that you need to treat all kids equally if you choose to enter their lives. I chuckled when Chef Chuggs said he would get his kid’s 6 toys and the step kid(s) 3 toys. Kids are the innocent parties in these relationships and did not ask to be in the situation. Chef Chuggs asked who won the discussion and I am going with Don Lulu. However, I would not date a man with small kids. I would avoid the situation if he had more than 3 kids under the age of 10-years old. I became a mom at the age of 19-years old so I do not wish to continue that role of managing small children in my 40’s much less further into my 50’s. God bless anyone who steps up to roles like that. I also say God bless anyone who chooses to not accept that role since they do not believe that they would have the capacity to be 100% fair, impartial, and patient enough for that/those young soul(s).
I appreciate the Sean who came into the first video just in time to speak about whether or not they are comfortable with their wife going out dressing hot. He speaks well and articulates his thoughts clearly. He also sounds quite ambitious with quite a few different irons in the fire. The topic of a reality show’s husband getting stolen by a woman that was once considered a close friend was raised. Don Lulu believes that you cannot bring anybody and everybody around your spouse. I appreciate Chef Chugg’s opposing position on bringing people around his wife. If the person can steal his wife, then she is not for him. Spoken with confidence and great logic my friend! I agree that reality tv shows should be reviewed with great scrutiny as to the validity of their storylines. I am highly entertained by their system of going live on Instagram and if they have enough support on a topic, then the others must take a shot. In the next episode, the team talks about different types of relationships. I am saddened from the feedback from Badd Taz on her relationship with her girl. She often gets the most ridiculous questions, via her social media, from men who ask if they want more members into their relationship. She feels like her relationship is disrespected on a daily basis. I agree with that and I wish you will encounter more maturity with future interactions. I am sad for her that her relationship is still subjected, despite it being the year 2021, to such intense scrutiny. If someone wants to enter a polyamorous relationship, that is both their own risk and reward. All people from all walks of life should be free to do as they wish in the bedroom.
I think they should dive deeper into more on the topics, those that I checked out in these two episodes, and respectfully challenge each other with asking who? what? where? when? why? and how? The objective is to not evoke controversy. Instead, it is to drill into the root of the thinking on the position held. Since it is obvious that you all respect each other, I don’t think it would become some Jerry Springer style of a discussion. I am sure over time you all will go deeper into the topics. The guys respectfully drilled, in a way that I am suggesting, Badd Taz on her same sex relationship. I was amused by their rapid fire questions and how eloquently she fielded each of them. One of my closest friends is in a same sex relationship so I am aware of the dynamics. I had my own set of questions that I went ahead and asked her over time. The next topic that I was interested was on the topic of submission. The word sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me. It is a topic I have brought up on my Verbally Disastrous Podcast. They brought up the topic of either the man or woman making more money and the dynamics that follow. As I said before, this group of folks cover quite a few topics per episode and bounce topics and ideas in a respectful manner. This is good considering the level of chaos that can come from differing views held on various topics. I did post a comment on the topic of a guy who is a video game marathoner on YouTube. I laughed when Don Lulu broke my chops on my comment. Of course I responded. 😛 I am not really into any many who spends a ton of hours on a game system. I do not blend well with anyone who is lazy anyways either.
Overall, I appreciated their content with hot topics while liking their respectful and chill dynamics. I didn’t peep the other videos that appear to be one various current events. I am leaving that open to the curious viewer to check out for themselves. I genuinely look forward to them branching out to podcast platforms. I shared with Don Lulu some tips on how to get a hosting platform, I use Anchor, in order to start spreading out content to many platforms. To get in on their Instagram lives, go find them at: _donlulu_ I appreciated the respect that they have for all parties involved. Each person is not afraid to share how they view even if it is an opposing view. Badd Taz fielded the many questions on her relationship with poise and grace. Now, I have some questions down below for the entire team to respond to as they wish. Once received, I can edit and share with the audience at a later date. Let me know if I should add a question to the list below?
MY QUESTIONS FOR DON LULU PRESENTS CALLIN’ SHOTZ TEAM:
1.) Why did you choose the “Callin’ Shotz” portion of your podcast name? 2.) How did everyone choose their show names? 3.) Are you all from Alabama? 4.) Where do you get your inspiration for your podcast episodes? 5.) What are the day jobs of everyone on the team? Go ahead and promote your businesses and I will share it for you. 6.) How do all of the co-hosts know each other? 7.) Name 3 key lessons, you have learned the hard way, while creating your podcast episodes? 8.) Name 3 screw-ups you had either prior to launching or while creating your podcast? 9.) Do you have a website/blog? How about social media? If so, share your link(s). 10) Do you have access to big names to interview? 11) What are the topics of your next few episodes you plan to release? 12) What is the name of your YouTube channel? 13) What is the ultimate goal of your podcast? 14) What does your friends and family members think about the podcast? 15) Who is your audience and where in the world are the majority of them from?
Well, let me know your thoughts about this podcast episode from the Don Lulu Presents Callin’ Shotz Podcast that is exclusively on YouTube? The best way you can do that is by dropping feedback in the comment section below. I would greatly appreciate it if you leave a comment that just shows some love! The Brook Reading Podcast-A Brief History of Women-Volume III, Construction Tales by Leslie M. Jasper on Spotify
Hello Everyone!
I’m very excited to announce that Melissa Sak, the host of the Brook Reading Podcast, has just released Volume III from her series on History of Women. Melissa is the author of “Turning Point” that is available on Amazon as an e-book and paperback. Here is the link to pick up her book Turning Point on Amazon:
Turning Point by Melissa Sak is on Amazon
I am truly honored to hear Melissa offer a review of my book #ConstructionTales on her podcast episode. Melissa thanked me for my previous review on some random podcast episodes that I had previously peeped. You’re quite welcome. I like my budding relationship with Melissa a lot and appreciate her edgy delivery. I appreciate her overview on my book where she offered some highlights and quoted some of my advice. She shared some of my stories from the various jobsites that were funny. Yes, you must match the sarcasm of others and be willing to give and receive some practical jokes on the job. I truly appreciate where she had offered some highlights yet didn’t give the store away. 😛 I thank Melissa for trying to envision what I was going through during that time period as a new widow with multiple jobs. I had my juggling act with college, apprentice school, my electrical job as well as my other part time work. Truth be told, I don’t think I have the same energy levels to do all of what I did, while in my 20’s, today. For a period of about 6 months to a year, I worked 120 hours a week. I used to close my eyes and take a nap while waiting at a red light. Quite a few times the person behind me honked the horn to wake me up. By the time I passed my Connecticut E2 electrical license exam, I was able to quit the multiple jobs and go with just one job. My goal for the book was to be able to share what it took to keep my house that I had just bought. I shared some of the kindness of my co-workers, who found out by word of mouth, that I was a widow and a single mom. It shows an evolution from being the young girl who almost everyone avoided to the peer that became “one of the guys” on the job. I believe that I was a warrior and not a victim as a young woman with tough challenges to face and overcome. I never want anyone to think I was crying about the behavior and actions of others. I was merely documenting it. Melissa Sak announced that the answers to my posed questions, from my previous post on my review of her podcast, are coming to me very soon to add to the review so I can post and share with you all. In case you missed it, I am re-sharing my review of the Brook Reading Podcast below:

I hope you are enjoying your weekend exactly as you wish with your friends and family? I am chilling out, with my bestiee, and we got some sun this afternoon in the sand along Candlewood Lake shores in sunny Brookfield, CT. We are going out tonight to socialize with my friend’s coworkers. I just released my latest podcast Episode #27: Cliff Walk Weekend last night. Melissa and I ventured out to check out a few bars for the first time last night. The suburbs are way more sleepy and calm compared to night life in New York City. In Connecticut, the last call comes around 1:30AM. Meanwhile, the bars in New York close at 4AM. As an older chick, I can’t hang out until 4-5AM anymore unless I take a disco nap. However, I like having the option if I want to hang out available. We may end up having to hang out in sections down in Queens and Manhattan that are far more lively. Let me know in the comment section what interesting things you are into tonight and last night? Here is a question, that I was requested to respond, on Quora about apologizing. Are you a person who readily apologizes? What type of emotion does apologizing evoke? Is it hard for you to apologize? Do you even know the root of the reason for hesitation? I figure the person asking the question has never asked themselves why they hate apologizing. It is hard to apologize when you really do not feel like you should. It is also hard to deal with others who are very sensitive in nature. It is hard to deal with people who dodge the truth and they require you to do the exact same thing. Here is the posed question and my response below.
POSED QUESTION:
“What does it mean if I only apologize if I have to, and if I do, I don’t really mean it?”
Yaklösäal
MY RESPONSE:
“I believe that only you hold the answer to your own behavior. It is possible that you are currently unaware of the root as to why you behave the way you do. People on the outside can only speculate and throw some ideas your way to help you sort out and figure out your own behavior. For many people, apologizing is a huge challenge. For others, the apology just easily rolls off their tongue. There are a few reasons for offering an apology. You may need to apologize after exposing a painful truth or striving to keep the peace within the family or while amongst friends and/or co-workers. An apology may be necessary after displaying a poor/abrasive choice of words and/or actions. You may have to apologize as a result of a hurtful misunderstanding. An apology may come off as forced or fake if you do not align with the words coming out of your mouth. Admitting faults, for some, makes them feel like they are bad people and can kill the ego. Apologizing can evoke fierce emotions so people try to avoid it like the plague. Why do you have to even apologize in the first place? You are missing the root as to why an apology is even needed in your question. Who is forcing you to apologize? What type of feelings bubble up to the surface as a result of having to apologize? Are you angry for being pressured to take a position that you do not genuinely feel the same deep inside? Do you feel satisfied that you have fooled others via deceiving them with your apology? Are you bothered that you have been exposed as a person who truly lacks remorse for your words or actions? Understanding your emotions will help unlock the meaning that you seek. We all have managed to offend people at some point in our lives. Yes, some people are more sensitive than others. An apology may be the ticket to settling a feud by calming the emotional storm with an apology. Sadly, you very well may be speaking the truth. However, the truth can be painful to many. You can still hold your position regardless of having to apologize. It may be very strategic to just keep how you really feel to yourself. I wish you much luck with self discovery and with future encounters with friends, family, and co-workers.”
Well, let me know your thoughts about this topic by dropping feedback or just show some support? I try to respond to these questions when I am doing my nightly stroll within the past few weeks. I also like to write while laying on my sheet in the sand while catching some sun. I still can’t believe that we are half way through the summer already. Make every day count and enjoy your free time with our loved ones. Therefore, have a fabulous Sunday afternoon either solo or with friends and/or family. It is time to enjoy the weekend however you do when your family depends on you. Try to keep cool and safe this weekend people! Peace out, Cub Scout!

Hello Everyone!
I opted to peep a few episodes of the Piggly Dogg Podcast on Spotify. I opted to write a review on the dynamic grocery store clerk duo. My next podcast review will be on the Brook Reading Podcast. Further podcast information can be found on the website http://www.brookreadingpodcast.com. The Brook Reading Podcast will shout out the Verbally Disastrous Podcast this weekend. I am returning the favor on my end via sharing their content with you. I would be honored if Piggly Dogg shouted me out on their podcast-no pressure or anything. (cue cheesy grin) 🙂 Stay tuned for my review on Brook Reading Podcast. For now, let me share my thoughts on the Piggly Dogg podcast that is hosted on many platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts, through the main hosting platform Anchor.
Here is the Spotify link for the Piggly Dogg Podcast:

Here is the Piggly Dogg’s podcast hosting platform Anchor profile:
I recently connected with @PigglyDogg on Twitter, courtesy of @YetiYeff from the 8750 Podcast. We all randomly discuss a wide variety of topics on Twitter. The Piggly Dogg has both a Facebook and Instagram page as well. As of now, I have not discovered a website or a blog. I have questions down below for the gang to respond to down below. I opted to check out the podcast and write a review. When we are all starting out with our own projects, it always helps to assist and cross promote each other. It has been fun so far to check out each other’s labor of love. I would say that their podcast concept is very unique in nature. I have yet to cross paths with another podcast that mirrors their same style. The Piggly Dogg is hosted by dad Rick Horne and his young son Noah Horne. Now I am presuming their family associations. They would have to let me know if they are related in a different manner. For each episode, the father and son duo are promoting a wide variety of grocery products from, “the greatest (fictional) grocery store in the south”. The weekly specials are broadcasted on their podcast from Big Lick, Virginia. I paused on the name of the town and was trying to figure out if it is a real town or they are just messing with us?? It was high time to Google the town Big Lick to see if it is legit or not. Yes, it is indeed a legit town that is 7.5 hours away from New York City!! The Piggly Dogg grocery store was first opened in August of 2020 on the podcast. That is cool that they are celebrating a podcast anniversary next month. The Piggly Dogg is very much a super unique podcast concept! I find plenty of content to softly giggle at while in inappropriate locations. (cue blushing)
Rick is the voice of the following podcast characters: Chuck Fluffernutter III, Jehoshaphat, Mark the Seafood Man, Coupon Bot, Fruit Man, and Meat Man. Of course, my dirty construction worker mind giggled and made up scenarios with the “Meat Man” character. They give opportunities for folks to call in and leave a message to be put onto the podcast. I intend to submit an audio clip as Mrs. Crabtree who is wanting a refund for her bad meat purchase. (cue evil laugh) Yes, I know it must be kid friendly so it must be crafted in a double entendre style. Meanwhile, young Noah is the voice of Emmett McCoy. I sifted through a few episodes and shared some screenshots of the Spotify podcast episodes in this post above. I find the Piggly Dogg to be a fun loving, family friendly, and upbeat entertainment. The car scene where they are driving to headquarters for a hand slap and to beg management for a promotion made me laugh. I just wished that young Emmett had a microphone to hear his exchange better. I shared the podcast with my two sons as soon as I listened to my first episode. I found some products to be rather funny as well. The son Noah’s engagement with the podcast adds to the vibe of the show. He adds the young, random retorts that are laced with high energy to the podcast.
Each podcast varies in duration from 1-83 minutes. The episodes are not labeled and I’m not wanting to count them since there are many. Therefore, I shall go with a years’ worth to listen to on the podcast platform of your choice. I would say that the podcast is very detailed, creative, and playful with the different characters. I definitely think it is worth checking out for your young listener within the home. I didn’t hear any cursing at all in any of the episodes. I think the podcast will grow and evolve over time. I’d like to see it like the cartoon Sponge Bob where some of the humor goes over the heads of the kids and seeps into the minds of the adults. It is something that I can see networks like Disney and Nickelodeon would entertain. For a young listener, there is plenty of content for them to enhance their playful imagination. Of course the humor is not limited to just children. However, the kiddos came to mind as I listened to various episodes. I totally laughed at the multiple podcast episode references of a “seafood smoothie”- YUCK! I am sure that as the podcast continues, they will come up with even more creative ideas with different venues. I most certainly wish the cast at the Piggly Dogg podcast the best luck and the most success! Now here are some questions for you to review Rick and offer some responses for my readers. You can respond via text or create a podcast episode. Just tag and/or send me a link so that I may update my post with your responses.
My Questions For The Piggly Dogg Podcast Team:
1.) Where in the hell did you get the name of your podcast? 2.) How long does it take for you to get together to create your episodes? 3.) What do you guys think of the unique name of your home town? 😛 4.) Where do you get your inspiration for your podcast episodes? 5.) What is the inspiration for your podcast cover photo? 6.) How do all of the hosts and co-hosts know each other? 7.) Name 3 key lessons, you have learned the hard way, while creating your podcast episodes? 8.) Name 3 screw-ups you had either prior to launching or while creating your podcast? 9.) Are you on Apple Podcasts? If so, share your link. 10) I shared your Anchor podcast hosting platform above. Share any other names and links where you can also be discovered. 11) Provide the link to your blog and/or website so viewers can find you. 12) What is the name of your YouTube channel? 13) What is the ultimate goal of your podcast? 14) What does the matriarch of the family and/or other family members think about the podcast?
*EDITED*: RESPONSES FROM THE PIGGLY DOGG PODCAST:
1.) Where in the hell did you get the name of your podcast? “Our name came from the great folks over at Candy Chat Podcast. Our Q & A episode has the history of the name”. 2.) How long does it take for you to get together to create your episodes? “I think about ideas all week at work. Usually by Friday, I have the direction that we are headed and do an overview for Emmett…lol. From the overview, all is improvised. So what you hear is very minimal editing. Like a ‘Who’s Line Is It Anyway’ scenario.” 3.) What do you guys think of the unique name of your home town? 😛 “It’s interesting with the history of being a major salt lick producer. Our town now is named Roanoke (changed the name years ago).” 4.) Where do you get your inspiration for your podcast episodes? “Things going on in life and events that are going on in the area. Sometimes people or incidents that happen at work!” 5.) What is the inspiration for your podcast cover photo? “Our cover art is a conglomeration of our family dog Bella (recently passed) and a pig.” 6.) How do all of the hosts and co-hosts know each other? “Myself and my son are the main people. I make up most of the voices. The cameos come from friends and other fellow podcasters. Pricilla Peppermont is my daughter and she is the PA voice on Episode #2″ 7.) Name 3 key lessons, you have learned the hard way, while creating your podcast episodes? “1) Never expect things to go perfect. 2) Editing, sounds, and making music for the podcast takes more time than the record. 3) The voice in your head is usually not what comes out!” 8.) Name 3 screw-ups you had either prior to launching or while creating your podcast? “1) The ‘Fist Episode’ I feel was botched. 2) We had a whole episode we deleted off due to sound quality. 3) Making the first original logo after the Candy Chat logo (was a mistake).” 9.) Are you on Apple Podcasts? If so, share your link. “https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/piggly-dogg-daily-specials/id1525288614” 10) I shared your Anchor podcast hosting platform above. Share any other names and links where you can also be discovered. “Find us on social medias: Twitter: @pigglydogg, Facebook: piggly Dogg, Instagram: piggly_dogg” 11) Provide the link to your blog and/or website so viewers can find you. “None currently. When we get a little larger, we will look into that!” 12) What is the name of your YouTube channel? “(Piggly Dogg YouTube Link:) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGC53Cw6XXNlwBlX_QnGk1ANot much of nothing there though!” 13) What is the ultimate goal of your podcast? “Just to see where it leads us. Would be nice for Fox to pick us up as a cartoon though.” 14) What does the matriarch of the family and/or other family members think about the podcast? “They think it is okay, somewhat annoying, and crazy. Wouldn’t have it any other way! I will get my wife to do a voice soon… hopefully!”
“P.S.- Thanks for the wonderful review of us and I hope this gives your audience a clearer picture of our podcast! Hope this helps more people save more time and money here at the Piggly Dogg :P”
I thank you for stopping by and checking out the creative project that is the Piggly Dogg podcast! If anyone has another question that I have not posed, feel free to drop it down below in my comment section or find me under my name on various social media platforms. Enjoy your weekend people! 🙂

CONSTRUCTION TALES- TOLD BY A WOMAN: (5) SHORT STORIES ON AMAZON!
Yes, yes, yes, I have shared this new release of my (5) Kindle Vella Library short stories in a few of my other blog posts this past week. They are short stories that will become the makings of my next book within the #ConstructionTales series that will be entitled, Construction Tales: Volume II: My Illuminated Path Continues.. I figured the only way that I will be able to write volume II is via a series of short stories. My Volume I goes by the hashtag #ConstructionTales since it is shorter to use than the full name. My first book is entitled, Construction Tales: Volume 1: My Journey To Become An Electrician. This first volume was released back in 2013. My edited teen version is entitled, Construction Tales: A Young Person’s Guide To Accomplish Anything In Life. I felt like the message is strong yet the content was too raw for young readers.
